I like the simplicity of the text and the objectivity

This is a nice little book offering what in some cases are obvious suggestions when working with type and some cases not so obvious. In my opinion all of the tips (or nearly all) are relevant and helpful. It is a bit like having a cheat sheet to run through when selecting and setting your type for a design project. It is the type of book I had been searching for for a long time but never found, typography books often display projects with nice typography like a portfolio but don't discuss general advice or opinions on setting type or rules to implement or avoid so for me this was a nice little addition to my design library. It is not revolutionary, but it is handy and a quick read. Unlike the other two reviews I did not notice any real problems with language errors or at least did not find them distracting enough to bother me.

The content is super interesting and captivating. But fining several typos in a book about typography and the importance of content is a little disappointing.

Well this book has a good selection of tips and working methods from the view of one designer, I would say the biggest issue with this book is that it does not take a very objective view. It is clearly one mans vision of how we should treat typography. This is in some respects a good thing as we do not end up with a watered down and bland book, but rather the view of an author.The other thing that annoyed me about this book was the amount of typos and incorrect use of language, now I put this down to the fact the authors first language is not English. However there are some very strange typos throughout that easily could have been avoided.All round a good short set of rules on typography.

I agree with the previous reviewer, it's a nice little book, and of course it looks very good, as you'd expect, but at some level a triumph of form over content, as it's absolutely riddled with typos, which I raised with the publishers Actar, but to no avail.

Los tips son muy interesantes y muy prácticos, el libro se lee muy rápido. Merece la pena.

Zwei Bücher in einem. 22 mal, was man tun bzw. lieber lassen sollte. Das Buch wird einfach umgedreht und dann geht es weiter, Verständlich und amüsant geschrieben.

One of the best typography books for a recent art grad.

.. Und alles ist drin. Ich mag das Buch ziemlich gern, da es einen an die Hand nimmt und einen Rahmen definiert an den man sich im Typografie-Jungle halten kann.
