I had a squirrel that had chewed it's way into my walls at the top of the house. In this area there is no attic, it had got in just below the apex of the roof.I purchased a one-way raccoon door. Think of a cat/dog flap that only goes one way. Idea is that you screw this over the hole, and when the rodent goes out to drink they can not get back in. However I would I ever know they had left the buildingThis was the only wireless outdoor/water proof unit I could find. I put the sensor on the one-way door and was able to hear when the door was opened. We heard it opening a lot the first day as the squirrel was testing the obstruction and poking it's head out. By the end of the day, no more door bells and no more in the wall scratching. We know his gone as the doorbell as not gone off for a week. Now I just need to seal up the hole.

Set these up with the receiver on a desk top, this makes it much easier when you deploy the monitoring contacts.In my photos you see how I used storage box plastic, cut to ideal shaped squares with holes drilled in them, to allow easier screw-mounting. The sticky foam backing has LOW tolerance for random surfaces.This example (1 of 3 I set up) required stand-offs for the magnet to align it so that the slight movement in the gate did not cause false triggering, which this device is PRONE to do, it's trigger distance is a mere 1/2" in all contacts I installed, I thought the MFR. stated 4 inches, but that might be 4 millimeters, not inches.All in all, I got all 3 set up and they seem to be holding out okay, the distance is remarkable too, that much was impressive of the product.

Have not tested the waterproof features but it works and all 3 connects easily

Tried several times to link chimes to base and it did not work once moved away from base.

I attached the to my outside gate. Works great. Their claim of working 87384944 ft away is obviously China marketing BS but it works and it has been working after being rained on for 3 months. I'll update after it craps out but as of now 5 stars.

1 works. Another only works when the 2 pieces are TOGETHER, not apart. The other worked on testing, but once I stuck it permanently, nada. Junk.

The range stated in the listing is grossly exaggerated. In actual use, expect about 50 ft. Funny how range isn't one of the criteria asked for when rating the product, eh?
