A Little Large for Cats and I Wish They Stayed Sharp Longer
Update-First pair was faulty and the company replaced them immediately! Excellent customer service! Unfortunately, 15 months later this pair is tearing up my kitties claws. We have 5 cats and trim their nails monthly, so I don't think they are overused, but they sure got dull quickly! :-( 5 star service, 4 star product, 2 star longevity,When we first received these, we thought they might be too big for cats despite the title, info & reviews. But we tried them (on very skittish cats not used to nail trimming yet) and they were great! I think they were WAY more comfortable cutters for the kitties and although they felt a little awkward and bulky for the humans, we are getting used to them! I would LOVE them and give them 5 stars if the safety guard would stay in place and if they were just a little bit smaller! Overall, I recommend these over any traditional "cat" clippers without hesitation!

Good company, clippers could be improved
I give the company selling these clippers 5 Stars for customer service, but the product only gets 2. I really wanted to love these. They are just the right size for my dogs. They are small enough that I can easily see the quick and the handle is comfy. They are made of stainless steel and feel durable. But, the promotional material says they are sharp and won't crush your dog's nails. I have two dogs. I used them on my smaller dog. He squirmed, but I wrote this off thinking he was just having a bad day. My second dog never balks at getting her nails cut. She yelped in pain. I thought I had hit the quick but I didn't. I tried a couple of more nails, but it was obviously hurting her. I switched to our old clippers and she was fine.About the company - I was really impressed. The HappyDogz Team sent me an email with nail trimming instructions before the clippers even arrived. After they found out how unhappy I was with the clippers they immediately offered me a refund (despite the fact that one of my dogs showed his displeasure with the product by tearing up the comfy handle).

Works great on my border collie mix (50 lbs)
Works great on my border collie mix (50 lbs). It's a little harder to use on my Shar pei mix - but she has nails of granite. This DOES get through them, I just have to hold her toe carefully so it doesn't twist with the amount of pressure required. This isn't a problem with these clippers - it's her nails, make no mistake. They're just so hard and large (big feet) that I don't think a diamond cutter would get through them like butter - so these clippers do everything they should and that I would expect from a quality product. The hinge point in particular is MUCH sturdier than other clippers I've tried, many have tried to twist with the "jaws" separating, and these stay aligned even when I have to clip the Nails of Steel.

I'm so glad I purchased this pair of Pro Cut Nail Clippers
I'm so glad I purchased this pair of Pro Cut Nail Clippers. My dog is a very large, black labrador retriever with black nails who doesn't appreciate or see the need for nail clipping. Therefore, completing the task quickly and efficiently is important and these clippers do the job. They cut quickly and cleanly with very little effort on my part. Because I don't need to fit her nails into the slot to cut as I did with her previous guillotine type nail clipper, I can work swiftly and efficiently and in a jiffy, we're done. Will recommend this pair of clippers to my dog loving friends.

use a grinder instead
If you are an expert in using clippers on dogs, and/or your dog remains calm when touching his/her paws, this may work for you. But none of those apply in my case. My dog bled when we tried to use it. Ever since we have switched to using dog nail grinders (we use the Furminator brand, but there are ones by Pedipaws as well), and that has been a way better solution for my dog as well as for us. With a nail grinder, there is no risk of sudden over-trimming because your dog moved his/her leg. Unless your dog has really tough claws, a grinder is definitely a better option.

It is sharp and does a good job. My hand is small and the handles are thick. Im sure that it is perfect for most people. I have one small dog who cannot tolerate having his nails cut. I have tried everything. I take him to a groomer (several) nothing works. If you could fix that I would be grateful. My othe dog, a standard poodle you can do anything to her. These clippers are great on a thick nail. The service from Happy Dogz is 5 stars. thank you

Wonderful clippers and company service!
Wow! Very impressive! I received a great informational sheet on nail clipping suitable for use and framing. I sent it to the breeder of my dog so she could include with her packet on how to take care of your new puppy. This company is a class act. The clippers were great. It really was easier to clip my two dogs' nails. I wanted better clippers than I had, but I honestly didn't expect such an improvement. I highly recommend!!

Very high quality, excellent customer service, ergonomic and super easy to use!
Shipping was super fast, just used them for my 8-pound Maltese who is a rescue (9-year old and just been with me for less than two months) and has not been nail clipped to my knowledge was able to handle two back paws in one go! Very sturdy, easy to use, comfortable grip and cuts really well! I am very happy with the purchase! Oh and also thank you for sending me an email heads up about the shipment together with useful tips and instructions on how to clip a dog's nails! Very helpful and felt like the company really cares about dog's health, comfort and well-being. :) Just wish they had other colors :)
