Great Pros, couple of manageable Cons
Great Pros, couple of manageable Cons . . .This is a good design that is sturdy, easy to install and does not feel cheaply made. We use it to fit iPad Air 2 with a hinged keyboard in our patrol cruisers so agents can do all their reports while on property, including recording violations and tickets. We are a highend security company. Highend in our case means that all agents have military of law enforcement background and are quipped with military grade gear do to their job, such as FLIR, and driving nice vehicles.Out of the box the mounting brackets are easy to understand but we faced a couple of issues. The bolt provided didn't fit neither the car seat bolt or the provided bolt. That meant a trip to the hardware store to get the right bolt. A bit of a pain, but ultimately that's no big deal.Depending on the vehicle you put it in, be aware that you are taking leg space from the passenger side. That means if this is for your family vehicle because you are a sales rep and use your personal car for work, then someone in your family will complain. This is not something you can easily move out of the way without consequences. But, however, it is something you can really work on and that will handle weight of the laptop and you taking tight corners if you are an aggressive driver. The quick adjust handle is awesome! It allows to rotate and tilt the tray quickly and easily. So, if you need to show something to a client or your ride along it is easily done. One thing to watch for are all the little tightening knobs under and around the tray. they are necessary to accommodate the variety of electronic you would want on that tray, but with the driving then loosen, so once in a while, or as you get in your cruiser everyday, go around and under the tray with your hand and tighten everything. I don't think that there could be a way around that small issue.I will buy this product again for other cruisers as we grow our fleet. I may consider the more expensive model that has a collapsible tube that may allow for an adjustment that will save leg room for the passenger.I will post again in a year or so to speak to the longevity of the product.

Cradle swivels every which way, but doesn't rotate/spin
I bought this Mobitron stand because I have an Asus Eee Slate B121 tablet PC, and just about every tablet holder on the market is designed for smaller tablets, like iPads. The first thing I noticed is the heavy weight of the product. When I saw the big locking teeth on the solid metal joints, it gave me peace of mind that I didn't spend over a hundred dollars on something cheap. This is a durable product. The installation of the stand went rather smoothly. At first, I installed it using the included extender plate that connects the stand's mounting lug to the seat bolt, but noticed a fair amount of wiggle, in fact, a little more than what I would consider acceptable for a $100+ stand. It seemed that the use of the extender plate might have been the cause, so I took the plate off and attached the hollow mounting lug directly onto the seat rail via the seat bolt, which is the number one installation option they suggest. Voila! That cut down the wiggling so much, it's literally not even an issue anymore. (I would highly recommend that if you were thinking about buying a support arm brace, BEFORE YOU DO, first check to see if you can attach the stand's mounting lug directly to the seat bolt without the use of the extender plate. That alone may reduce the wiggling by more than 50%.)The cradle was very accommodating. With all the height, width, and depth adjustments it has, I knew I'd have no problem getting it to hold my large tablet securely, which it does very well. I did, however, have to make one modification to one of the four adjustable stops: the upper left corner of my tablet is where the power supply plugs in and where the volume controls are. The stop in that corner blocked those things, so I used a bench vise to flatten out the 90 angle and make a new 90 degree angle about an inch further down. Problem solved. The stand mounted to my car just fine, and my tablet mounted to the cradle just fine, but I ran into a problem adjusting my tablet for the best viewing angle. Even though the Mobitron has a LOT of positioning and tilt adjustment flexibility, the cradle cannot be rotated (picture grabbing the cradle with both hands and trying to turn it like a steering wheel) and it needs this capability. The more I adjust my tablet into position for an optimum viewing angle, the more the screen tilts to the left, and there is no practical way I could correct for that.A slip of paper inside the box offered me a free USB LED light if I left a five-star review, but my integrity won't allow me to leave a five-star review for a product that is very good, but not perfect. It's an excellent product in almost every way, but I seriously did consider returning it due to not being able to rotate the cradle. I am able to adjust my tablet to an angle that is good enough, but to put it exactly where want it would leave it more slanting left. If the cradle had a rotation adjustment, I'd easily give this product a full five stars.By the way, since the product description does not specifically say, I would like to point out that this stand DOES have a quick-release lever. You can remove it from your car in seconds.

Not Practical...
Mount base is impractical for most vehicles. (Allows for alot of shake/wobble).Laptop plate attachment point is WAY to short and makes adjustment knobs difficult, at best, to access.Unit is NOT PRACTICAL.

great product
I wrote out a nice review yesterday, but somehow it didn't post.Anyways, idk what the other guy is talking about - although the instructions are a bit unclear, it doesn't take a genius to figure it out.I bought this product almost a year ago, and after heavy use, it's still working just fine, as the day I bought it. Even after throwing the tray around in my trunk - none of the moving parts have broken - the plastic seems to be of pretty high quality - doesn't melt or warp under the texas sun.Your laptop will be safe in this product - just make sure you install it right (the handle is very important). So, it's a cheap and durable product - meets my expectations exactly and I couldn't ask for anything more. Buying a more expensive product wouldn't make a difference imho.Added benefits - you can remove the tray if you don't need to use it and the mount is very inconspicuous in a small car.
