A great history of a great company if you're interested
I remember the fantastic TV advertising campaign that gave this book its title, and it was great. (I was in the adv. agency business then.) But now my teenage grandson has his first job in Asheville, NC at, yes, a Dunkin Donuts store. He loves it...got his first paycheck the other day. So I gave him this little book as a congratulatory gift. Looking at it, I enjoyed it too...it's a typical story of a WHY NOT? serial entrepreneur who started DD decades ago, and how it grew. The guy is a character, like many business gurus, and made it big. A quick, enjoyable read, with lots of heart. He loves the book.

Success, one donut at a time
As a Dunkin' Donuts coffee drinker, I was intrigued by this book. The founder tells a story from the days when someone - like himself - can have major success in business in spite of only having an eight grade education. Those days are probably over in business. However, there's something to be said about on-the-job learning from a young age, agreeing to many deals on a simple handshake and following through with integrity. The book teaches some good lessons, among them - the customer is the boss; surround yourself with good people; tenacity and persistence are key character traits, and belief in your product gives you the passion to succeed - especially in sales. The story tends to bog down at times with a bit too many characters named and explained. Bill, the founder, may pat himself on the back too often. And, today's business world is much different - but vital lessons apply today. The last two chapters clearly capture the essence of what is needed for success....even in our times.I think I'll have another sip of my Dunkins....

Since 1953, the chain has grown and prospered tremendously.
I liked that Bill Rosenberg was a self-made man and someone with a "can-do" attitude. Dunkin' Donuts' success was due to his persistence and precision, always valuing the customer above everything else.

The Story behind the Donut!
This was a great book told through the eyes of the creator of Dunkin Donuts. It tells of all of his ventures and even the stories behind the ideas he got. It was greatly informative but felt as though I was reading a book for pleasure! I had an economic paper due and picked this book and did not regret it once.
