I was so excited to get this for a rescue mouse. First of all the instructions are a nightmare. I finally just looked at the photo in here to get it put together. Then the clasps would not clasp so I had to use needle nose pliers to bend the metal up and then the clasps worked. Next was the wheel, no matter what I did it would not spin. Bought another wheel and replaced this one. Then once I got it all put together I realized it was WAY to small for a little house so I removed one platform which solved that issue. Then I put Malcolm in the cage only to have him get right through a section of bars that were bent and I had not noticed. Upon further investigation I discovered several bars bent so badly that would allow for a speedy escape. Again with the pliers to fix it all. Took me about 3 hours to make this critter safe, or so I thought. I found Malcolm almost dead this morning as he found his way to the petting station which has not enough air holes for them to breath properly. I blocked off the tube that goes up there so that feature is not in use at all. If I had not needed a cage so desperately I would have returned it. I now have it where it can safely be used but will NEVER recommend this to anyone.

Our hamsters, Lettuce and Cucumber, love this habitat—but as the cleaner of said cage—not as much. You basically have to disassemble the cage to properly clean it, it’s not complicated, just a bit time consuming. That being said—we enjoy the hamsters enjoying their space and love the expandability!

Just got this in today for my two gerbil boys. they’re already diving right in! the only issue is it was missing the little stoppers but that’s all good! and good thing the instructions are online! other than that, it is a good deal to save a few bucks! make sure you wash with dawn before you let your critters back in

Our little guy Crumbs loves his habitat. This came quickly and in unusual but sufficient packaging. The only small issue was a broken clip that we subbed a zip tie for on the side connector. Works great.

A great priced cage for our 1 gerbil! Lots of fun tubes and cubbies to hide in. WARNING! The one thing I didn't anticipate was Mary, our gerbil, loves to kick her bedding around and because it's a cage, instead of the tank we used to ha e her in, the bedding and poop her kicked out of the cage and onto the table she is on. Oh well, other than that, it's a great home for her.

I was a little leery about choosing this habitat for my new young mice considering the mixed review, but I am glad I went ahead and tried it out! I wanted some extra space to house 2 mice and have lots of places to play. I liked the tunnels and second level platforms and especially the top nest area so I went ahead and gave this a try!ArrivalThis arrived completely undamaged and with all the parts. No issues at all with damage to the plastic parts.Putting it togetherThis was a bit of a concern as I was afraid to snap the wrong pieces together and have them not come back apart or to just break something trying to get it to fit! So I went slowly and carefully through the steps to piece it together. I did have a wire bent that made it difficult to get the cage lowered into the base, but I fixed it with needle nosed pliers. I don't know that it even came that way - hiubby may have done it being to forceful trying to make it fit! So be careful and if it isn't fitting right away - look for little bends in the wire or make small adjustments to how you are fitting it down as it might be stuck up on the plastic on one side!CleaningI have no issues taking it apart for cleaning and putting it back together. The side tube comes out easily enough and then you unclip the sides and remove the bottom. The shelves are also easily removed and the top nest comes right out as well so I have no issues at all with cleaning it.BarsAs with any bars, I was concerned about escape, but so far that has not been an issue at all. Either they don't want to or can't! The bars are the narrowest that I have seen on cages of this type.WheelThe wheel is super quiet and one of our mice LOVES the wheel and goes as fast as she can so no issues there either.Top level - splitI didn't love that the top level was split rather than a full floor so I solved that by buying a rope and twig bird ladder with a very narrow spacing between the pieces so it was more like a little floor. I clipped it to either side of the cage and it mostly sits on the level then goes straight across to the other side creating more of a full second floor. The mice love it and race back and forth or go up one tube, across and down the other!Water bottleNow on this item, I agree with other reviewers that it's not safe for small animals. My mice are rather young and the bottle is spring loaded so I was concerned about them being able to press it back to drink. So I picked up another water bottle where the ball moves up and down the tube freely and used that instead rather than take a risk.Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and if we get another set of mice in addition to these, I would definitely purchase again!

La jaula está muy bonita, el material se ve de buena calidad, los colores son vivos como en la foto. Armarla fue sencillo. Mi hámster es está contento, tiene mucho espacio para moverse, subir, bajar y correr. La ruedita para correr no hace mucho ruido, lo que suena más es la vibración de la jaula cuando corre. Me gustó mucho que tenga la cajita portátil para tener al hámster encerrado cuando limpias la caja o para transportarlo. Abrir la caja para limpiarla es fácil. Lo único que no me gustó tanto es que la botellita de agua no sea transparente para ver cuanta agua tiene o para poderla lavar bien. Fue una buena compra.

I’ve been building plastic models all my life. I don’t think I have ever had one so finnicky, or ill supported by guess-and-go instructions as this cage. Basically, you figure it out yourself. The cage is high quality and attractive. One thing that was unacceptable: the water dispenser is a little blue plastic box which would be impossible to clean properly. We replaced it with a glass tube.

My Hamster seemed to love this cage until he escaped out the top. He turned the plastic cover to the hole (place where you can add on tunnels) and got out. I still dont understand how he did it. I wouldn't blame the cage though. It was colorful and fun, and easy to clean!

My hamsters like this cage better than the extension I bought them. This is too small to be used on its own. But my hamsters love the loft. I took out one of the levels and put a larger wheel as the one with it Is too small for dwarf hamsters and can damage theit back. Im also not that keen on the bottles that came with it and the regular bottle doesn't fit in the hole so have to use the bottle that came with it. If this was made in with everything larger scale and nicer bottle this would be great.
