The Merchant and the Thief: A Folktale from India

This book depicts the progress of thievery in the life of the poor man. He was financially and spiritually poor; and his choices that led him to be a determined theif can be traced through the story. The rich man, who was rich both financially and spiritually, also made choices. In Chrisitan love the rich man chose to share true riches with the poor man. The poor man chose Life and became rich "on the inside" transforming his life. I have shared this book with children from ages 4 to 8 and they all have enjoyed it and asked for it to be read again. Adults seem to enjoy the book as much as the youngsters do. The art work in the book provides a delightful glimpst into Indian culture.

I love this book. I have a copy and I've bought it several times to give as a gift and it is always well recieved. It's a great story with colorful illustrations and with lots of opportunities to talk to children about trust and true riches.

Any and all books that we have read by Ravi makes you thnk. I think both children and adults can learn from this tale of greed and always wanting what other have and not realizing the gifts we have already been given. The story is simple as are the pictures colorful and drawn to emphasize the point.

A well told story of one man's struggle with the sin of the tenth commandment. As I read this to my grandchildren they were hooked on this story. If my grandchildren like it, it is a great book.

Beautiful book, great pictures, great story that was clearly understood by my 4 and 5 year old. They love the book, it's now their favorite. They want me to buy a bunch more books with the same characters, Ravi...if you're listening, I need 2-3 more kids books starring Raj and Mohan!

This story from Ravi is a great presentation of the Gospel for children. My three boys (7, 5, & 3 yrs) have all enjoyed this story. The older two have clearly understood the message as well. If you have enjoyed any of Ravi's books for adults, you'll love this story written for younger thinkers as well!

Excellent book !I am a huge fan of Ravi Zacharias. I collect and read and treasure every book from Ravi. God has immensely blessed him with wisdom, knowledge and insight. I thank him for generously sharing his gift with us. This is the first children's book from Ravi that I got. I LOVED IT! My kids love it too!

I had to laugh when I received this book in the post. I was ready to get stuck into a book that would keep me bound up in a bundle, unwilling to even put it down for a short while. What a joke! I could not believe what I saw. A book for children!!And then I started to read - and the child became a philosopher, and the philosopher a preachcher and the preacher a child. Wow!! This is a book, read in a few minutes, that will have you reflecting for a lifetime. Enjoy reading it and yes, share it with your five year old as well and let her read it to your three year old.
