SHARK 153FFJ Navigator Lift-Away Vacuum NV355, NV356, NV357 Hose Handle

Exact replacement and improved
Direct replacement for my broken hose. The new hose is more flexible than the original, which is a good thing because the original is terrible and causes the canister to fall over if you try and pull on the hose at all. It was a poor design to start with. The new hose should allow a little bit better usage.

Also fits the UV440.
I have a Shark Navigator Lift-away Deluxe, model UV440. The genuine replacement hose was not available for my model and this one looked close enough. It fit perfectly and has restored operation to my vacuum. The only complaint is that the hose is about 6" shorter than the original hose, which makes it stretch out a bit and makes it harder to use the hose attachments. Otherwise it works fine on the UV440, even if the color doesn't match. The original is shown on the right, the replacement hose/handle is on the left of the image.

Fits NV356E PERFECTLY
I have the NV356E and received this part today and it fits perfectly. I almost did not order it, because I saw in the reviews that someone said it did not fit and they had to duct tape the handle. But everywhere I looked; ebay, amazon, on the official parts list, etc., this part # (153FFJ) is what is referenced. So i took a chance and bought it and I'm happy i did. I dont know what the problem was with the other individual that has a NV356E and where this part didnt fit, but I have the same one and it's a perfect fit. I bought this vacuum in April of 2016 and this is the first time I've replaced anything other than the filter pads. We have 3 dogs all over 70lbs and fluffy. When the hose broke , finally, 2 days ago I contemplated another vacuum. But since this one is still running strong, I opted for the $35 fix rather than the $200+ new purchase.

Repair had been holding up fine, but didn't allow for the existing hose to ...
Replaced existing hose assembly in which the hose had cracked and we repaired it using tape. Repair had been holding up fine, but didn't allow for the existing hose to be stretched. Installed this thing within 30 seconds and vacuum was back to functioning like brand new again. My only con:Unfortunately it seems to be made from the same materials, so it will likely turn brittle again after a few years and crack again. Still much better than having to replace the whole vaccum.

Didn't need to buy a whole new vacuum!
We have the Shark Navigator NV356E that we purchased at the end of 2016/ beginning of 2017. We use the vacuum a ton (about every other day) since we have 2 cats that tend to shed year round. Well back in December 2019, we noticed that while we vacuumed, the handle would pop-off occasionally. It only got worse, until one day, when I tried to vacuum, the handle did not want to stay on. This was because the red trigger inside the handle that held the handle onto the main vacuum was broken! Well, I wasn't in the market to buy a whole new vacuum, since the vacuum itself still works great, I chose to see if I could get the handle separately. AND behold, YOU CAN! and for a fraction of the price of a new vacuum! Ordered it and when it came in, it was easy to remove & discard the old one and install the new one. We are so glad that the Shark Navigator NV356E has part you can buy for replacement.Definitely recommend, just double check to make sure the part number is compatible with your vacuum.

just like new
I have a Shark Professional Navigator NV355 which is almost 4 years old. This hose fit perfect and works great. I have ordered other attachments for my vacuum only to find they don't fit. Was very pleased it fit.

Doesn't work correctly for a Shark NV356E
I got this for my Shark NV356E vacuum and while it slips into place it doesn't lock down on the handle. While it doesn't work correctly, I am keeping it. I had to tape it onto my vacuum for it to stay in place. I tried to vacuum without taping it into place, but the handle would lift off while vacuuming normally. Because it is taped I cannot use the short nozzle, but I can use the long nozzle, which I use more often anyway.

downgraded
fits perfectly as a replacement part and seems to be same quality as original, that broke so that can be good or bad but it works and now I don't need to buy another vacuum as I love my shark.update 10/18. downgrading these two 1 star. I am glad its available but they keep cracking at the top and or bottom just by using the attachments. I am even being careful with them as I know they are prone to cracking but they still end up cracking in the tube section at the connections, top and bottom with very little usage.
