Batman: The Court of Owls Mask and Book Set (the New 52) Board book – Picture Book, 8 October 2013

As a Batman fan I am super satisfied with this.The packaging was good with lots of bubbles inside and delivery was good and fast.The comic is really nice and such a good read. The mask is super cool and nice to wear as if you’re in the court of owls yourself.Other than that, I can say I am very happy with this purchase and if you’re a Batman/ DC fan you can’t go wrong with adding this to your collection.

When it comes to discussing Batman in comics, you'll hear many authors names get thrown around.Jeph Loeb, Grant Morrison, Tom King, Frank Miller etc.Scott Snyder not only stands tall with these other writers but is perhaps the best among them.While other writers such as Tom King and Frank Miller have had souring highs and disappointing lows with their writing of the character, I am yet to read a Scott Snyder story that hasn't gripped me.The Court of Owls is the perfect introduction to Batman for a lot of newcomers, taking aspects of his past and reinventing them into a more cohesive storyline that makes it a lot more accessible for the reader.Snyders run starts strong with one of the handful of Batman stories I would give a flawless 10/10.This volume for me is up there with such tales as The Dark Knight Returns, The Long Halloween, Year One and Hush. It works perfectly as a stand alone story as well as setting up what may well be the greatest run this character has ever had within this medium.Scott Snyders writing with Greg Capullos artwork make for a pitch perfect translation of the characters of both Batman and Gotham, who are shown in new lights that don't reinvent the wheel, but instead fine tune and in many ways perfect it.I won't spoil any of the story here, but for both long time fans and first time readers wondering if this is a good place to start picking up Batman comics. Yes. Yes it very much is.(Plus the mask is really cool)
