So far so good
I was replacing the 4300BT, after 5 yearts, the CD player started skipping. Replacing the previous Sony model was a no brainer, same conector, same remote. The sounds seems better (same speakers) Somehow with the 4300 I always had to boost the sound with the tuner, not with the 5300. Connecting my phone was a breeze. One negative though the annoying beeping when I turn the power off. I set it to off in the settings but it keeps beeping.

Good purchase
After looking at tons of other options, the reviews persuaded me and I got it for my older car. Easy installation, comes with pretty much everything you need, and works great. Definitely worth it.

Excellent sound & complicated general setting codes
Wow I was blown away on just how great these speakers sound on my Frontier truck with stock speakers from the factory!I thought I'd have to upgrade my speakers and even the bass booster comes out really good! Most common features like moving tracks when you Bluetooth music through your phone, play CD or program radio buttons are easy to figure out. The phone call feature buttons are easy navigate and calls comes out crisp and clear.Bluetooth connection was easy to pair with my phone and it quickly connects to the phone when I shut off the engine and started up again... However, the process of Bluetooth connection was not easy to figure out and you need to read instructions first.Again, It's only downside is that you must read the manual for all the features that are within the general setting system like The equalizer, canceling the demo mode, adjusting the display, changing the clock, etc. There's a lot of codes in the general setting menu which didn't make sense to me Most of those settings will be set it and forget it, so I'll have to read the manually again when I change out my truck's battery. If it weren't for the confusing general setting codes, features and the difficulty removing the faceplate, I would have given it five stars. The sound from this stereo is that good!I recommended for its awesome sound, however, if you don't like to read the instructions of products, this car stereo will be frustrating to figure out.

Everything I needed
I wish i would have gotten the upgraded model that can change colors, glad im going with red theme, have 2 rcas out the back of head unit going to the in dash equalizer, 6 channel out to trunk mount crossover, 4 channels to 4 channel amp and 2 channels to bass reconstruction processor then to monoblock. Systems runs and sounds amazing, want to get a trunk mount battery setup and then hide all the wiring. I will always buy Sony head units.

Installed easily per husband
Sound is great. Took me a bit to get my phone to connect, but I will not blame that on the Sony product, I would say more than likely my issue with connecting due to mountain area wifi.

Other than VERY inconsistant BlueTooth initial connection, works as it should.
I have had this for a couple of years now and when it is connected to the phone, it works as it should, but getting it to connect up can take 5+ minutes of turning BT off/on until it finally decides to connect and play.
