SAMSUNG OEM Original Part: DC34-00024B Washer Door Lock Switch Solenoid

Fit perfectly and installed easy. Worked for my fix. Door wouldn't stay latched. Nothing was broken except the electronic component that shuts the latch. It wouldn't even latch when off. This was my fix.

Thrilled this Samsung part works in my Whirlpool-built 2005 Kenmore Elite He4t (Model 110.45986400) as a functionally-compatible substitute for the original part ( Whirlpool 8182634 Latch for Washer ). Apparently many manufacturers use the near-same part but give it a wide variety of part numbers. I can vouch that this is fully compatible where it counts: door sensor, latch mechanism, 3 mounting screws and 3 cable connectors, and position of all of these. It is different in three non-essential ways: (a) faceplate is white, (b) this lacks 2 wiring harness retainers, and (c) it has differing shape on its "wings"--none of which effect installation or function.I was very glad to find this part (at a good price and with prime shipping) because the exact OEM part was twice the price and not Prime. My original part (as removed from the machine) was made by EMZ of Germany (EMZ part no. 38.0140; also stamped as part # 461970200692)As noted above, this Samsung part differs from the Whirlpool/Sears part in that (1) this has a white latching surround and will change the color of your door-latch "dock" from OEM Black to Samsung White. It is also (2) the case that this does not have two tabs that, on the Whirlpool part, help loosely hold a nearby cable harness in place (which I've since found stays in place on its own). But the cable connectors, screw holes, and switches all have the exact same geometry and the new latch has worked great (and quieter) through two test loads of laundry.Samsung also makes a part ( DC64-00519B Whirlpool Washer Door Switch Assembly )that has the two cable-harness tabs, but it was nearly 30% pricier when I looked.Tip: your old latch may have failed because it wore itself out on a misaligned docking tab. So you may want to also buy a  Whirlpool 8181651 Door Strike

When the correct part finally arrived, it took about 20 min to get it back in the washer and all has been well for several washes as of this writing.In recent weeks it had required several tries to latch the door to start each wash. Videos on the internet showed me where the problem might lie, and guided an easy removal of the part to check its status after 5 years of use. It turned out that the lower part of the plastic unit was badly cracked.I ordered the needed replacement part (DC34-00024B) on Amazon and it was "fulfilled" by a supplier who sent a different part that had two labels: 1) a faded label stuck directly on the package showing the Part Number as DA31-00146H; and 2) what seemed to be a freshly printed label applied over the original showing the Part Number as DC34-00024B. The part I was sent had no resemblance to the part I needed. I returned this incorrect part to Amazon, and warily ordered the DC34-00024B part again. The second time (from a different supplier) was the charm.As I said above, with the correct part in hand it was a quick replacement with the help of internet videos. The washer was back in action immediately.BTW - after the washer was functional again, I finally used the Pure cycle to clean the inside washer unit after years of use. It is like a brand new washer!

If you have general "handyman" skills, this is an easy DIY. I completed it myself in about 10 minutes. One of the easiest household repairs I've ever done. (Look for a video on line - super easy...High level steps for the repair:- Unscrew the front of the pieces - three screws on the right side.- Remove the "spring" around the washer seal... easy to do, stretch it a little with a screw driver and it comes off.- Pull back the washer plastic "seal"... don't worry, it's still sealed on the inside, but now you can get inside the washer.- Reach in and pull out the piece... it's right there... but may be a little stuck because of the wires.- Unplug it carefully- Take it out of the "housing"- Put the new one into the housing (it sort of snaps in)- Replug it in- Put it back in place and screw it in.- Put back the washer seal and stretch the spring wire over to lock it in place.YOU'RE DONE! Doesn't that sound easy?

This is the exact same part my washer needed to start working again, I’m no handy guy but I just watched a quick YouTube video to install & now my washer works perfectly!

Box was not even taped closed.lucky it wasn't stolen.There is a a plastic housing it fits in , in my washer.Because the shape was different in the upper left corner I could not get it to snap in.My husband had to cut down parts of the housing and we got it in. I have just completed my 3rd load. Works as expected.Other purchasers had the same issue.Excellent price!

The lock received is exactly the same as my original one, good quality and easy to install. Don't need to call professional and just watch video from YouTube. My washer is 9 years old, hopefully this will let it run another 5 more years. I was comfortable to order the lock from this store because of reviews and "6 in stock" marked when I placed the order online. I need the lock ASAP. At the time, the store only offered free standard shipping for this part. I was unlucky and did not get the in-stock item, I sent a few messages to request rush delivery. I was told that I have to wait till the store receiving it from their supplier and then send to me. The service is kind for responding messages in short time with clear info. Finally, I received the lock within schedule frame, it took 18 days from the date ordered to the date received. That is the only reason I gave overall rate 4 stars. I am happy with the lock. Now we have only installed the lock for 20 days. So far so good, I will update later if necessary.

This is a replacement for DC64-00519B - and is identical. Paid a bit more for faster shipping and it arrived by Purolator a day earlier than scheduled! Fit perfectly and Washing Machine works as it did new! This part had Free Shipping available - the DC64-00519B part did not. Both parts are the same. Easily installed per YouTube video. A service call would have likely cost $200Cdn or more. PERFECT!!!

Installed this a few weeks ago and it works perfectly. I would rate this a 5 out of 5 but we haven't had it long enough to say that we are satisfied with the longevity. Installation wasn't hard but it wasn't easy. During the installation I broke a small harness clip which you cannot see from the outside, so be very careful. The broken harness clip hasn't impacted the use, at least not yet.

Excellent OEM replacement part. Outstanding price! I priced this exact part at a local appliance parts store and it was four times the price for the exact same item. Installed this is minutes and it has worked perfectly since. HighlyRecommend.
