Excellent introduction to esports
As someone who has had a passing interest in esports for a while, this was a great read to get much broader overview of its history and current state. Tying it to Paul's career helped to ground the stories, and give everything a human character. I'm looking forward to investing much more time into engaging with esports, enabled by the increased interest and enthusiasm spurred on by this book. Highly recommended.

Palpable experience makes this a great read
Written from the front-lines, this book is a real ring-side commentary on one of the most exciting, but complex new entertainment mediums. If you've been perplexed by the rise of Fortnight, wonder how all of these things make money, or just want to understand the brave new world of competitive button-bashing, this book is for you. It's fascinating and enlightening in equal measure and, as esports only continues to grow, a must-read for anyone interested in culture, sports or entertainment.

Is It Worth it?
Wonderful. I have read all the chapters and i would say that this book is the cheapest informative Esports book you will get in india. It explains the history of esports, how to spell it, how our community breaks and how to make it stable, respect to womens, etc and Also Paul Chaloner is a great man but sadly he has retired now...

A well-crafted romp through the world(s) of esports
It's having a bit of a moment, esports. Out of the shadows, and into the light (then presumably back into the shadows: glare is no friend to the gamer). Fortnite tournaments are capital-N News, Mythic Quest is compelling TV ... "Fortnite" has been a more popular search term than "Football" on Google during lockdown. It's "a thing".So too is this book, which offers up plenty of context, history, anecdotes, and action. Who knew that recaps of famous online MOBA matches (the book comes with a Glossary) could make for page turners? For an esports novice like me, having a commentator take me through the history was particularly useful. Like all good callers, you know immediately that you're in safe hands. Paul's passion for his subject really pulls you into the world, and credit to his writing partner Ben Sillis for maintaining that sense of pace throughout the book.Thoughtfully produced, meticulously researched, and full of often incredible stories. Recommended for fans of sporting tales, those with an interest in the history of culture, and parents who need to get up to speed ... and quick.
