I love these little things! This is my third kit from the Mecha Collection Macross series (after the VF-31J and Sv-262) and it's my favorite so far. There are only a few parts, but some are very small and fragile. You can hold the completed model in your palm. Assembly will be easy for anyone with some model-building experience. No glue is required, and a straight out-of-the-box build can probably be finished in an hour or less.All the parts are molded in the tan-green color you see in the pictures, but the VF-171's stealthy-looking surfaces are covered with tiny details just waiting to be brought out by some careful panel lining. I'm actually not sure I found it all! Stickers are provided for the stripes and insignia on the top of fighter, but they're less extensive than you'll find in other kits in the series. Detailing the bottom is up to you, though the panel lines act as guides for most of the areas that need painting. You can even paint the canopy and its frame instead of using the sticker, to nice effect.This kit and the others like it are perfect for a casual modeler whose spare time is at a premium. I'll be ordering the  Macross Machine collection series Macross delta SDF/C-108 Macross Elysion fortress type  soon, and I hope Bandai continues to expand the line.Highly recommended!

This is a really fantastic model for a really great price point that is let down by one thing: stickers. The model itself a beige/tan color and every single color you see in the pictures are from a sticker. And they're really frustrating to deal with. They don't easily come off the page. They are hard to position well. Some of them (such as on the nose of the model) don't adhere very well. It's otherwise a really nice model that goes together pretty easily and looks really nice.

Pictures are misleading. Yes, the description says 'Model Kit', but as many vendors abuse that term, it's not clear how much assembly is required. More pictures of the box contents would help make that clear. All in all, I feel pretty cheated.

The model is small. The instructions are in Japanese but the pictures are very easy to follow in building the model. Some of the decals are easy to put on the plane. But some were too small to put on. I labeled the plane the best I can and it turned out pretty good. You can't tell that the small ones are missing. I recommend this model plane, because it doesn't take to much space.

Very cool model, really detailed. However, it needs assembling, and the stickers only cover the plane's upside, the gun is not black as appears on the photos, nor are other parts in the bottom whose colors are supposed to be different from drab. Unless you color the plane yourself professionally, it will never look like the one on the photos. Still, it is a very good one, and the price is acceptable. I hope there will be more macross models coming out in this Mecha Collection series.

Item is very small, read the fine print and gotta have the eye and the touch for this. Best to use nail clippers to smooth out rough edges after snips.

A fun little snap together model. Love the fact that very detailed stickers provide all the plane markings and detail! Fun stuff!

I really don't understand how people can put these stickers on. Too much hassle. Great detail

product came in great shape way ahead of scheduled mail date. but the dimensions are a bit off..the ones they give are for the box not the item.the fighter when put together is 8.5 cms long by 7.5cm widebut still a nice small model that requires no glue

子供が戦闘機好きなため購入してみました。これまではコンバットプレーンを購入しましたが在庫が少なく種類も少なく、異色のアニメ戦闘機の購入となりました価格が安いのと単純な組み立てで、年少の子供が手荒に遊んでも壊れそうにありません。当方の老眼では、細かいパーツ、取説、シールなどかなり苦労します。昔はこんな細かいものでもしっかり見えてたのに。。。組み立てが完成すると、なんともそっけないですがシールを貼ることで質感がアップしますシール大事ですね。あと、子供の玩具として、戦闘機って選択肢が少ないです。トミカのような低価格でいろんな種類あるといいのですが殺戮兵器を玩具として扱うと駄目なのか、ほとんど販売されてません同じように戦車などは、玩具として販売されてるのに、戦闘機は少ないと思います。

アニメはあまり見ていませんでしたが箱絵に一目惚れで購入。組み立ては簡単、シールは結構難儀しました（カッターで調整も…）。キャノピーと主翼エッジをシールではなく部分塗装に。箱絵を参考に気づいた細かいところを塗装（無視した部分もあります）。老眼が始まっているので拡大鏡のお世話になりながらやっとの思いで完成させました。今はこの見事なスタイルを眺めて悦に浸ってます。
