Safe to consume
Easy to swallow and absolutely without taste. These small capsules seem to be perfect. I have become increasing irritated by other companies packing weird little odds and ends into their products. These prove that’s just not necessary. The contents of the capsule are not a strange form of anything, they are just a simple way to take vitamin c, derived from fruit, they are whole food, not chemical derivatives, so the body can assimilate the vitamin; this is why they are easy on the stomach too. Bearing in mind that you are buying vit c NOT fillers, bulking agents, flow agents nor any other floor sweepings. These are actually not so harsh on the pocket either.

No fillers
Small capsules which are much easier to swallow than the magnesium from the same brand. I have nothing to complain about and since I was looking for a pure supplement this contains Amla fruit extract only making it perfect for my needs.

Amla Fruit Based Vitamin C
Despite getting a fair amount from my diet vitamin C has long been one of my staple vitamins ever since I initially started taking extra through supplements years ago for helping predominantly with optimal skin health and repair when I really needed it with active acne and the scars it left behind, and I've never stopped taking it since even though now it is more to maintain healthy skin as well as for general health and immune support. Vitamin C is a great antioxidant as well as a super booster for your immune system in general and just a very good all round vitamin to take. It's also risk free if you're not sure if you have enough in your diet already or not and want to try adding a tablet like these each day as the body expels whatever vitamin C it doesn't use, so as I said even though I get a fair amount of vitamin C in my diet I still like to supplement with it too to ensure I'm getting more than needed as a minimum as it has so many benefits.I was keen to try these as haven't had Amla fruit based vitamin C before and was able to add these to my existing intake of vitamin C as they;re quite a low dose at 250mg compared to my usual 1000mg ones! Great if you only need a little amount now and want Amla fruit based vitamin C specifically.

Large tasteless capsules, but a big tick for vegans
I find swallowing large capsules unpleasant, and end up squishing them with my teeth to make them go down- which generally leaves a bitter, metallic tang in my mouth. So whilst these capsules are definitely large, what was a pleasant surprise about them is that they are basically tasteless. There’s no hint of fruit flavour from the alma (a kind of gooseberry), but there’s also no sourness or bitter kick to them that makes you need to wash them down. The main point of these capsules is their vegan-ness (veganity?), so while you could find cheaper vitamin C capsules with the same or higher dosages for fewer pennies per day on this site, the only reason for choosing these above those would be that they tick all the vegan boxes. If you’re not fussed about that, then you can save money and buy another brand. So yes it’s a bit pricey, like a lot of specific-dietary-needs products, but it’s otherwise quite middle-of-the-road and surprisingly palatable despite the large capsule size.

A bit pricey
Vitamin C is an essential vitamin, meaning your body can’t produce it. Yet, it has many roles and has been linked to impressive health benefits.• May reduce your risk of chronic disease• May help manage high blood pressure• May lower your risk of heart disease• May reduce blood uric acid levels and help prevent gout attacks• Helps prevent iron deficiency• Boosts immunity• Protects your memory and thinking as you age• Prevents the common cold, reduce cancer risk, protect against eye diseases, or treat lead toxicity.I've tried a lot of different supplements, and I really enjoy this one. I like the smaller dose (250mg instead of the usual 500 or 1,000 mg I see everywhere), and the pills are super easy to swallow. Vitamin C is water-soluble, so any excess is usually excreted in the urine rather than stored in the body.

Rather expensive in a competitive market
I started taking Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Zinc at the beginning of the Covid outbreak. This was on the advice of a consultant, so it seemed a logical step to do so. I am not advising anyone to do the same without doing their own research, so do talk to your GP if in doubt.I believe that I have benefitted from taking supplements, but felt that I wanted to step down from the highest 1000mg dose, to something lesser. There are fewer products at 250mg, but I felt this was a good benchmark, as I probably should eat more vegetables and fruits than I do.These Barefoot capsules are easier to take, being in a capsule form, than the 1000mg tablets I had been taking. Whether the 100%+ premium you pay for "Amla Fruit Extract/ Pullulan capsule shell" is worth paying, over similar 250mg Vitamin C capsules available elsewhere on Amazon, I am unsure. I suspect that one dose is much like any other, but I am no healthcare expert in this field. Conclusion: Expensive option, consider searching on Amazon for alternatives.

Really large
I found these vitamins excessively large and struggled to swallow them, even with a drink. As far as supplements go, this is really off-putting.The vitamins are in a glass jar. There is no safety cap which I think is incredibly important if you have children in the house. There is a hygiene seal on the jar. Overall, the packaging suggests a high quality product and I like that the jar is recyclable. With 90 days’ supply, this would seem good value for money. However, the dosage of Vitamin C is actually quite low, making these less value for money. Personally, I would refer a higher dosage and a smaller capsule. I have not noticed the difference in taking these supplements, but I would say the same about my usual brand. These tasteless vitamins may do the trick for some but be warned about the size. I take many capsules with water and these have to be the hardest I have taken.
