Experienced user thinks this is pretty cool stuff.
I used this to cover real mahogany veneer planking on a model boat. I needed a crystal clear resin that could impregnate a very light fiberglass weave fully making it disappear. in the finish. I selected this product because of its clear finish properties. I was not disappointed. As for UV curing, I live in Texas and the Texas sun was more than adequate to cure this resin completely in very few minutes! Make absolutely sure that you have completely wet out your layup before exposing it to sunlight you won't get any time to adjust things. As for the smell - polyester resin in general stinks to high heaven. This stuff doesn't smell great, but it's not as terrible as normal polyester resin. You will need a ventilated space to use it, however. I Have used every imaginable type of resin from vinyl ester to polyester to epoxies. I'm very impressed with this product and will be continuing to use it in the future for any layup where I can get solid uv lighting on the surface.

The smell is just awful!
Never again will I use this product! The smell is so strong and unpleasant that it’s like a plague spreading onto everything else the product touches. I’ll never lose this headache!

I use this product to level out oak grain pours and it worked great in two applications.
This product works great leveling out wood grain pores. The only thing is that this must be used in a well-ventilated area and you must wear a mask that can filter out toxic fumes. A dust mask is not adequate to use with this product. I can't stress enough that the fumes from this product are dangerous to your lungs and internal organs.

I like it
Works great, I roll it on with a weenie roller and it takes very little sanding to get a smooth surface. It won’t set up in daylight in my shop, it takes direct sunlight to harden, I tried a grow light and it didn’t work very well. The good thing about all that is that you get plenty of time to work it.

Works great. Smells terrible.
I make fishing lures in some of my free time, and I've been using the lighter weight fly tying resins from solarez for about a month. They've just worked amazingly, so I decided to try this heavier resin as a top coat on spinner blades (the fly tying resins are too light for this). This resin has again been amazing. I love that I can cure it with a small uv light in minutes. It applies smoothly, and hardens quickly and solidly. There's no tackiness either.I will say, though, this resin smells absolutely horrid! I honestly can't believe that it's advertised as being "odor free". I made the terrible mistake of opening this bottle in my kitchen. Wow... we opened all of the windows, turned on all of the fans, and still were stuck with this unbearable smell for over an hour.Definitely buy this stuff, but do yourself a favor and open it outside.

Warning may have blue hue
First off the price was great, not so much the resin has a glassy blue hue to it that I couldn't use for the project I have. (Making about 1/2 inch thick 1" round cabochons for faux glass eyes)When pouring it looks like liquid windshield glass, and tried curing in thin layers did ease it but not 100% clear like my other UV resin (on the left in pic). But boy oh boy it's rock hard!I found the smell to be like the other said to be like paint thinner or a lauqer "stink" definitely a smell but it's not as overwhelming like others are saying. If you can handle spray paint fumes then you're good. It's a resin FFS!Curing wasn't a problem other than I think my lamp is on steroids, it has 36 leds and this stuff got HOT when curing and had a very slight distortion (murky). I'm not blaming the product I'm pretty sure my lamp is just too much. (Will test in natural sun UV) To put it in perspective the UV resin by Hilde & Jo I got from Joann's my light cures in 10 seconds. Cure any longer and it cooks stress creases (shrinks) and yellows a touch (even that stuff cures in "minutes") So definitely my lamp is causing an issue. (Edit: got a uv flashlight and it cured beautifully!)Overall, this can be a fantastic UV resin given if you want a blue sheen to replicate glass look, I will have to try the casting resin and see that's 100% clear (Edit: it is and it's glorious!) I do like the consistency like a simple syrup effect, and it lays so smooth with very little bubbles. I don't regret buying this just wish it was 100% clear.

Love this product but it not odorless like they claim
Easy to use and love that the product cures so fast in UV light. The product is not odorless, it as a pungent odor to it open it in a well-ventilated area.

Make sure work space isn’t too cold.
Got this to repair damage and refinish the bottom of my skimboard to a glass-smooth surface. For the repairs, I mixed about an oz with Q-cell to create a paste to fill in the worst of the dents/scratches/gouges. The mixture started to thicken very quickly, even though I was not in the sun, so it got clumpy and didn’t spread very well. I chalked it up to a poor mix job with the Q-cell. Still, it filled the damaged areas fine, and sanded down smooth. For the refinish, I prepped by sanding the entire bottom of the board with 60-grit sandpaper then cleaning with goo-gone and taping off around the rail. I then poured the resin down the length of the board an began to spread with a chip brush. Again, it started to thicken and clump, even w/o the Q-cell.It then occurred to me that I was doing this in an open garage (because the fumes are no joke) in roughly 60 degree weather. I should have known better, and there’s probably some mention about working temperature on the label (already tossed it).Long story short, the board actually came out really well - glassy smooth and held up admirably after an initial 3-hour skim session. I just had to use way more of the resin, and do WAY more sanding than I should have. Live & learn.
