A must have for people changing a lot of front brakes
The mechanism was a bit stiff right out of the box. A little little light oil soon had it moving more freely. This was relatively inexpensive and does the job. Only time will tell how well it holds up but it seems solid enough. I'm using it on our endurance race car so it's getting a fair amount of use. We change the front pads every four hours or so and a tool like this just saves those extra seconds. A plus is that it puts a more even pressure on the caliper piston so less likely to do harm than the standard big pliers or clamp solution. The extra large, additional magnetic plates are a nice touch for working on larger calipers although the magnets could be stronger. If I was doing lots of larger calipers I'd probably buy another of these and epoxy the larger plates on.

Wow..
Wow indeed man, this thing is an absolute must have tool regarding for brakes. Jesus, it made my life so much simple to get those ScooBy pistons "4pots" in with ease which was a surprise as i wasn't expecting it to be that easy as i got couple of other tools so. I was just looking for a fancy one to be honest. Couple of tips for some out there, first if it is seized up well first and foremost don't rush things otherwise you are more likely to damage the piston in particular the outer side of the piston as those rust or whatever will force to carve in the outer piston and the inner calliper itself causing damaging frictions to each other while going back in. So my advice to you would be spray some lubricant on it and i would recommend none other than the famous WD-40. Leave it overnight if needed like i said don't rush things, it's a process to avoid any unnecessary hassle don't the road believe me!! However, minor seized up can be free in minutes that depend though!! I reckon after some lubricant leave it at least 5 mins to have chance to free it up and then give it some light push in with whatever tool you are using and bare in mind don't persist if it's not moving in!! Instead go in the car and brake a bit for the piston to come out but remember not too much for piston to fully come out otherwise you are in a world of pain if you don't know how bleed brakes, so you've been warn be extra careful!! My advice like i usually do just put something in between the piston and calliper so it doesn't fall out whatsoever. The reason i said to pump the brake a bit cos simply if the outer piston is full of limescale/rust/whatever, then it would be more difficult to get back in instead it would be much easier to come out so you can asses it better if the whole piston itself has been running out dry which eventually will answer your question why it seized up in the first place and ultimately will happen all over again if not fix!! CAUTION, never ever get the piston fully out without bleeding the brake properly before driving!!!!!!!!!! About this tool well.. 10/10 no doubt. Expensive?? Yep but worth every penny for sure. It makes a difficult/tricky job amusing somehow. Good Luck ;)

Easy to use, but broke on 1st use
Made from what looks like sturdy materials, did the job in pushing back callipers but the o-ring came off on the 2nd use.I don’t think I was using it erroneously, shame as it worked perfectly before it broke.

Beats a G-Clamp
Nice product. But like others have said, for it to operate as a ratchet, the user must apply pressure to the plates first, making it a little awkward to use.
