Vitamatic Mastic Gum 1000mg per Serving - Support Digestive Function, Gastrointestinal Health, Immune and Oral Wellness, 120 Capsules

Started taking mastic gum as an additional aid to resolve the symptoms caused by acid reflux. Had bouts of grumbling nervous stomach giving acid reflux, indigestion and other digestive disorders. After a few weeks my sympton have disappeared although i did follow other precautions like smaller meals and the odd omeprozole tablet ( which hadnt previously worked) so unless it was a placebo effect the mastic gum supplement worked. Anyway i now take one a day and after 3 months my symptoms have not returned so thats good enough for me to recommend their use.

Also best price I could find anywhere. Speedy delivery. As others have said these have a darker colour than some of the capsules I have received in the past. But as seen as how mastic gum is a natural product I am just putting the colour variation down to that. They still seem to be working the same and are better for my ibs / excess acid than any prescribed medication I’ve tried, and I think I’ve tried them all. Plus I’m still here after a week of taking them so don’t think it’s anything to worry about! ;)

Tried these following a month or so of suspected gastritis in February, as a possible remedy for H Pylori which I found out most of my wife's family (spread across Europe) have all been diagnosed as having and the possibility that my wife has 'silently' (she suffers from rosacea quite badly).Used in combination with PepzinGI (Doctor's Best), and at the earliest stages of self-treatment DGL Licorice, Milk Thistle and Slippery Elm.I'll never know if any of these potions helped or were all placebo effect, however I was of the impression that I had modest improvement over that time. I added the Mastic Gum a little bit under seventy days ago and it became a staple - I'd take one of these capsules morning and one at night, empty stomach as instructed, along with one of my PepzinGI. Heeding the advice of others about considering these remedies a long term (3-6 month) treatment rather than a quick blast, and warnings about any irritation caused by taking the full dose in a single shot right at the outset, about fifteen days before the end of my first bottle (60 days treatment) I switched out to the pair of these in the morning and a pair of the Pepzin GI's at night.I would say that I was convinced I felt more relief increasing over the duration, sufficiently so that when my supply of both of those supplements ran out, I ordered more.I continued the pattern of two of these in the morning and two Pepzin GI at bedtime, but since the time I started the second bottle of this I got the feeling that I was losing a battle to a 'second wave' of whatever I had been suffering from which left me quite worried, frustrated and depressed.That escalated into the past three days of feeling extremely uneasy in the GI department (and I never had severe symptoms to begin with - I just have a very sensitive 'IBSsy' kind of system where I feel every ripple of unease, every vibration, every gurgle quite profoundly and have done for years).Without being too graphic I've gone over the last four months (and I've also massively increased my exercise, really been on a health kick diet wise, massively upped my water intake and tried to be on the whole a bit of a health freak, as I've been so 'well' for most of my life that unwellness just freaks me out) from certain aspects of my personal - erm - habits tending toward 'loose' and a little random to being very regular and stereotypically healthy, quite a pleasing improvement.But today I've been driven to the throne three times in increasing urgency with decreasing consistency at the tail end of this horrible three day GI uneasiness, and I've found that I'm actually passing these capsules WHOLE - the coating is 'jellified' but the contents absolutely intact and undistributed. It was quite an alarming sight and an even more alarming discovery on close examination. I definitely discovered three capsules intact which represents two days worth and goodness knows where the others went - I suspect they were 'bundled' in more tightly packed packages and are now sailing their way to processing... There was no evidence of the other capsules I took at the same time or shortly after.All the notes that I can find on the passage of 'intact' capsules indicates that in the circumstances it is an issue with the coating or the nature of possibly enteric/slow release capsule material that is at issue rather than any 'biological' problem, and the only time this three days of uneasiness lifted quite noticeably was in the final - erm - purge that produced these floating, perfectly white, jellified capsules... If you had asked me for a description (and as you can tell, I'm pretty good at word pictures) of what I was experiencing - today especially - I would have told you that each of the last three days I felt like my routine had shifted from generally 7.30-9.30am each and every day just once a day for over a month now, to late afternoon, and then today to multiple visits from 3pm onwards, and that each day felt like there was a journey of 'something' that began in my stomach and rolled all the way through my system to make an exit that resulted the feeling of a blessed 'reset' overnight, ready to start each day afresh.And then I'd begin the day with water and these Mastic Gum capsules.What I've found today, just a few days into the latest course of these capsules, leads me to believe there's something very, very different about these capsules to the last ones I had. Worryingly different. Like 'that shouldn't even be possible' different. And absolutely afraid to continue the course of these. I don't want to keep experiencing the sense of losing to some kind of relapse of something that I was making progress with, but even worse to now wonder if there was no relapse at all, that these things might have been the cause of GI distress...Very worrying and reminds me why, for all the 'swearing by' these products that people do, they are an unregulated, unchecked, unlicensed, non quality controlled industry and we're all popping anecdotal treatments and trusting in the providers.I'm most definitely not happy.I shall be trying a few days of just taking the PepzinGI to see if this state of uneasiness persists without the Mastic Gum, or if the discontinuation restores order, and highly unlikely to resume this brand of Mastic Gum. I may search another. Perhaps one gets what one pays for. That said, I don't think this price is cheap for a very cheap commodity.

Had a spell of gastritis..ouch used prescribed medication for the two week stint it was allowed for, changed my diet and take one caspule of mastic gum to keep my symptoms away. As a man I think it helps with prostate health?Good for the liver also

I bought these after another brand that I usually use was out of stock. I was a bit concerned, as they don't have the distinctive gum/resin smell but they do seem to be working very well for both me and my husband. We use them for IBS and acid reflux.

Most recent batch of this product looks and tastes completely different from previous batches. The current batch looks like fine grain brown sand in the capsules (RH image) and having opened a capsule to check taste, it has an unexpected sting on the tongue, slightly spicy. Whereas previous batches/capsules contained a white powder (LH image) and contents of the capsule taste neutral and the powder clings to the tongue. Since there is such a big difference in taste and appearance, I suspect this is not Mastic gum or it is a very poor grade. I've only just opened a package of 4 containers that I purchased in Sept and unfortunately the time has expired to return these products...

Did a 2 week course of 3,000mg per day. Calmed down the pain and discomfort I've had for years. Changed. My taste buds so avoiding harmful foods and hot drinks has been so easy to say no. Sugar craving died too. Think gut bacteria was controlling me.
