Really strong piece and holds up a dk Brioche shawl without any trouble at all. Great for heavier shawls most definitely. It allows me to turn my shawls into a hands free poncho cute look.

Needed a shawl pin to keep my hand knit shawls in place around my shoulders. I love this clean and simple look. The pin anchors the layers of the shawl in place. Stays put and not too heavy. Will work on any knit, crochet, or open-weave scarf or shawl. Love it!

Not gift able, unless you have it sent to you and you put it in a gift box. It came in a cheap zip lock plastic bag.It's not very sturdy. It's true, you get what you pay for. For a gift I would buy a heavier, more expensive one. I'd be embarrassed to gift this with one of my beautiful hand knitted shawls.

The broach is a good weight, sturdy but design is more utilitarian than anticipated. That said, it will work to hold my sweaters closed and scarves in place. I hope more antique inspired designs will made available as I would buy from this vendor again.

Beautiful but bigger than I was expecting. The pin is pretty big which is fine for larger weave sweaters but not smaller.

I live in a beach town so I don't use shawls a lot. I got this to use with the shawl but I can't figure out how to put it on so that the pin won't get lost.

This was purchased as a gift.Beautiful hand forged pewter scarf pin.I just wish the packaging stated that it was a scarf pin. No where on the plastic packaging did it say that.The recipient wasn't sure what it was.Thank goodness I also gave them a scarf!
