Quiet, Cleans Brass, Quick and Easy
This thing is pretty quiet, i was worried it would rattle or shake up the floor/carpet but its actually not that bad. Depending how much brass you put it in it, it'll just rattle for a few seconds as the brass circulates in the bowl but other than that its quiet, its a low hum, nothing alarming or annoying. You can make a soundproof box if you wanted to leave it running in a living room or so depending on your space.I also have it plugged into a timer so i just set the timer on the electrical outlet and it shuts off after like 45mins to an hour depending what i set it at.Please read the instructions. It comes with brass polish cream- Don't add your brass right away you need to prep the cleaning media.- first i filled the bowl with the agitation material/media maybe about 3/4ths the way up.- turn it on without the lid- as its vibrating add in the brass polish cream 4-5oz or so, on the bottle it says 3-4 oz for new media or 1-2 for used media- instructions say to let it run for 5 or so mins so the cleaning media is evenly coated with brass polish, i just used my hand to crush up any clumps.- After the 5 mins and no clumps- turn it off- ADD in your brass- lid, washer, wing nut, hand tight! don't crank it down just tight enough so the lid doesn't vibrate off. its a hard durable plastic but it can still break, don't crank it too tight- my brass is usually pretty clean out the rifle so i run mine for about 45mins to an hour and you'll see the results in the pictures.- the picture of the brass in the bowl is before and all the casings and such on the floor and in the containers are cleaned.- It does a VERY good job on the outside and a "good" job in the casings and flash holes.- if you want it really squeaky clean get the rotating tumbler with the metal pins and water/soap.- but its reloads I use a rotating brush to clean the inner casing and primer pockets.- tumble sifter and bucket is nice helps separate and recycle everything, id probably use the media a dozen or two times then swap it out for new cleaning media but it all comes down to how much brass youre cleaning and how dirty it is etc. Just eye ball it and change it as you would seem fit**your results may vary**- for 6.8 SPC I'm able to put about 100-150 casings in so there's enough room for everything to rotate evenly and not clank together in the media- for .45 I'm able to do 200-250 casings- for .556/.223 probably about 200 casings- for .30-06 50 about 100 casings- for .30 carbine 150 casings- 762x54R 50 casingsI don't like to overfill or make it too cramped in the bowl.Overall the full kit gave me everything i needed to start off with and in the future would give me an idea what maintenance items to get or try what other people may have done to get better results by changing to a corn cleaning media or some other plant based media, different polishing cremes, and longer cleaning times.I run it almost 4-5 hours a day depending on how much brass i have to clean and then it just sits till the next time. no issues so far. happy with everything and i just set it and forget it.

Works well
Love it and it has functioned well so far. I caution all to check and ensure all components are included. Mine was missing the polish. However they did a partial refund to cover the loss

Makes my brass look new.
After an hour my brass looked new. Cleans really well. Good size to do 200 556 brass at a time. Seems stable on the surface doesn't walk around. Cleans quickly.

Very good kit to start cleaning your brass
Bottom Line = Good value for the money.Just getting back into reloading - I needed to buy new equipment for cleaning my brass. I took a chance on this kit because the price was good and it includes everything you need to get started. In the past I have had other tumblers (the name brand ones), so I understood how it works and had some level of expectation and comparison. I was willing to accept "okay until I buy a better one" quality, since I am also buying everything else again (press and all). Saving a few bucks on the tumbler seemed like a good idea. The Frankford tumbler kit comes well packaged in a single box. Everything is sort of tucked into the included bucket. Assembly is very simple and the instructions provided are clear and easy to follow. Honestly, you could do it without the instructions if you had to - there is not much to it. It takes only a few minutes, and you're ready to go. Included in the kit is the tumbler of course... media for polishing... liquid polish to add to your media if you choose... the media separator basket and attachments... and a bucket with a lid.The Tumbler:I was pleased with the quality of this tumbler. It is of the same quality as other name-brand units I've owned. I have not used it over a long period of time, so I can't attest to its long-term quality, but after about five loads of brass through it - I'm happy. It is a pretty quiet unit. Quieter than I remember my previous vibrating tumblers being. I am not certain of the volume of the bowl, but I cleaned 9mm brass in loads of about 300 each and there was plenty room for more - perhaps close to twice that much if I really pushed it. The included media is fine. Not sure if it's walnut or corncob but it does the trick. I opted to go ahead and try the liquid brass polish that is included. No real determination of that making any difference really. To fully clean a load of brass in the batch sizes I did took a few hours each. I like my brass to be very shiny and polished looking - your mileage may vary. The on/off switch in the power cord is good and very handy. The cord could be a little longer - seems like about a 4 ft. cord at most. Also, I love the clear lid. I can watch the brass tumble and see when it's "done" without stopping the machine and removing the lid. There is no rubber seal for the lid or for the wingnut and washer, and I thought this would make the unit very noisy but it doesn't.The Separator:The plastic media separator is a little on the cheap-ish side, but it does the job. I will almost certainly upgrade to a Lyman or RCBS separator in the future - but this one will do fine for some time. It is also easy to assemble and simple to use. The "oar locks" for lack of a better word that fasten to the bucket are a little loose. If you position them over the handle wires, they will stay put for the most part. You could shim them for tightness, but not a big deal for me. It also comes with two "splash guards" that you position on the rim of the bucket to help prevent your media from flying all over. I attached only one of these because I didn't want to have to remove the second one every time I open the basket. If you take the first few turs slowly, and take care to pour the media and brass slowly... there is not much mess at all.For the price, it's the perfect starter kit. If you're just getting into reloading - or looking for a gift for someone else who is, this is a good buy. Put your dollars and product research energy into the truly important things like the press, dies, scale, etc. This kit will have you polishing brass in no time and it is easy on the budget.
