A really sweet and powerful story!
A really sweet and powerful story of a little girl called Laxmi who discovers she has little hairs above her mouth, called her 'Mooch'! The book walks us through her struggles, and will reassure readers through her family and friend's words that body hair is normal and beautiful! I really enjoyed the endpapers that had illustrations with some Hindi words translated that are used in the book.

Excellent book!
I bought this book for my 7 year old niece who also has a unibrow. She absolutely loves this book and is a bedtime story book we have read together many times already. I love that it introduces children to Hindi words too.

Beautiful, empowering book for kids of all backgrounds
Our 3- and 6-year-old kids loved the colorful illustrations and charming story of Laxmi and her classmates. Coincidentally our 6-year-old had just started asking questions about his “mooch” the week before this book came out! Our kids enjoyed the fun story and my wife and I appreciated the messages of body acceptance and positivity.

A wonderful story on acceptance of self and diversity. A must have for children's libraries!
Laxmi's Mooch is a long over due addition to the children's literature genre. Our children will thrive on the stories and illustrations provided in this book. If you look briefly into the author's bio, you see a role model for not only our children, but for all of us. I hope to see more from Shelly Anand in the years to come, in and out of literature!
