You'd never know it from the listing but this item is A PAIR of instep/shinguards!
For some bizarre reason this listing was created picturing only ONE item, and refers constantly to "pad" instead of "pads". But, yes - you do get a PAIR, just as you normally do with shin guards. Revgear's reputation for quality is well-deserved. These appear very well-made and thoughtfully designed. The pads are very, very firm but still slightly compressible. My guess would be that they are extremely high-density closed-cell foam. The material on the front that holds the pads is substantial and durable-looking. The material on the back is very stretchy and conforms very well to the shape of your legs. I have large calves and when I first saw these I thought, "No way can I even get these on." But they glide on amazingly smoothly and they're very comfortable to wear. I ordered size XL, my feet are size 12 1/2, and the heel and toe cutouts seem to be in just the right place. I have a feeling they would feel just as right for a few sizes smaller or larger. At first, getting them off seemed like it might be awkward. But if you just push the top area down until you can pull the heel hole onto the sole of your foot, you can then easily hook the edge of the heel hole with the big toe of the opposite foot and slide them right off! Overall these pads are extremely effective and amazingly comfortable to wear.

these guards have worn out pretty quickly, they are frayed in places
I use these several times a week and have been doing so for about 6 months. I only use them for heavy bag workouts. these guards have worn out pretty quickly, they are frayed in places. but I don't mind that because I really only want them to protect my skin from friction burns from my canvas heavy bag. for that they work well. I probably wouldn't spar with these. but for $20 they are great for bag protection. btw, I am a male, 6'2 and weigh about 210 lbs, wearing a 12-13 shoe, and large is just right for me.

Good for beginners
I bought these about a month ago and have been using them 4 times a week since. The padding is not the best for heavy sparring but is sufficient for light and training. I needed to get the XL instead of the large to properly cover my shin. The biggest problem I have had has been with the heel opening digging into my foot which is quite uncomfortable.

I'm about 5'"7 and the instep pad offers good protection. I've yet to try it out but squeezing the padding gives a similar feel as most generic soft instep guards. One thing I do not like about it is how the lower portion of the shin and the dorsal pad of the foot contact each other when in a standing position. Otherwise, I highly recommend this product.

Good shinpads
I was skeptical when ordering. But after using them for a year, i like them. They are snug and only shift if someone kicks your leg at an angle. otherwise, they stay in place for hours and comfortable to wear. They hold well with washing and drying. After a year of use though, they are frayed at the bottom. I wish they had better stitching on the bottom to hold up. But, they are worth what you pay.

Good protection not so good durabiluty
I received my shin guards yesterday. And tried them on I ordered a medium I am a shorter guy with large calves. The fit was snug but not restricting. The padding was adequate for use on a 100 pound heavy bag working 100℅ kicks the "kicker" however is the stitching around the padding began to bust after my first use. Nonetheless I believe this is due to the size if my calf muscles themselves so if you have large calves ho one size bigger

Good protection for Iaido practice
Good protection for Iaido practice, but the elastic at the end is sometimes too tight (varies from pair to pair, in my experience). I cut the joint where the elastic is sown together, and then it was fine.

Good for beginners
I have it for two years now, it's in good shape. But I think about changing it for a better one..

muy buenas
Son cómodas y discretas, ajustan y se sienten mejor que otras de precio similar, aún después de la primera lavada. En cuanto a durabilidad, no esperen mucho, pero para el precio, están bien.

Four Stars
Does exactly what they say it does. Fits slightly awkwardly at the feet, but still works

Instep strap is uncomortable
Instep sole / under-strap, seam-fold is in the center, so with a size 10 Mens foot, it will rest very uncomfortably directly under the ball of the foot. It is very noticeable and distracting. Required to push it back under the arch for any worthwhile use. This will expose your toes unfortunately. Recommended only for light or entry level pad work, avoid product if training seriously or sparring.
