Excellent Activity Tracker
It got me off my arse and has me walking and even riding my bike every day! I've lost 15lbs since I got it (about a month ago).At first the bluetooth would drop out occasionally (using Samsung Galaxy S5), and it could only be resolved by rebooting the phone, but I installed the latest firmware update after a day or two, and it has resolved the bluetooth issues. As I said, I've had it about a month and it's performed flawless (once I updated it).Despite there claims of being waterproof, I don't wear it in the shower. I'm not doing anything in there, nor am I in there long enough to justify keeping it on. It sits on the bathroom counter while I shower. At first I was a bit befuddled by the fact that it didn't register 'steps' when I was riding my bike (which I do frequently), but I found if I put it in the front pocket of my shorts, or tuck it inside the thigh band on my cycling shorts, it registers the activity just fine.I also especially like that when I track my walks, runs or bike rides in the "MapMyFitness" apps, that they are able to automatically synchronize and show up in my UP timeline. Some things I wish it did:Daily, Weekly, and Monthly step/activity goals! The fact that it has one daily step goal that carries over every day is a minor annoyance. How much I walk on a daily basis varies depending on many things, including weather, how busy I am at work, etc... If the weather is nice, and work isn't too busy, I might walk 10k steps over the course of the day, but other days, if it's cold or rainy, or work is too busy for long breaks, I might only do 3k or 4k. I usually know this is going to happen ahead of time. It would be nice if I could set a different goal for each day of the week, and keep them separate.I wish it had a weight tracking function, even if I had to input it manually like I do food and mood stuff (I imagine this will happen in a future version). It seems it would fit in nicely with all of the daily info panels they give you to encourage your sleep and activity levels.I wore this side-by-side with a Garmin Vivofit for about three weeks. I find the UP24 a much better overall motivator to get off my butt. I thought I would like the Vivofit with it's LCD display, as I could use it as a watch to show time of day, but the display on the vivofit isn't bright enough if you aren't in a well lit room. I find myself having to turn the lights back on in the bedroom to put it in sleep mode (I keep forgetting). Also, the UP software is much much much better than Garmin's equivalent.I wish the data I see on my phone was available in a web browser so I could view in on my computer screen.I really wanted to like the garmin alternative because I love their cycle computer (Edge 510), and I wanted to have all of my data in one place. Garmin's "Connect" is great for tracking fitness and sporting/athletic activiies like running, swimming, cycling and hiking, as it includes GPS, courses, graphs for time and heart rate and speed and elevation. This is great for logging all of my runs and rides, but it really does nothing to urge me to get up and move around during the day, whereas the UP24 DOES THIS VERY WELL!The UP24's simple UI and motivational presentation is very very good. It really works well to keep me off my butt...Thank you Jawbone. I love this thing!

Best accountability partner ever! 100 stars!
If I could give it 100 stars, I would! This is the most amazing accountability partner ever! I use it with the My Fitness Pal app (which I started first) and it tracks not just my steps, but my sleep and the quality of my food choices. Every day I wake up to tips for a healthier lifestyle, and they're realistic and easy to incorporate into my life. I want to make my band happy, so I take the stairs, park further from buildings, dance in the shower - whatever it takes to stay active. I've had my UP24 for about a month, and I've lost 16 pounds so far! I've never felt so motivated in my life with all of the instant feedback! And I got it $20 cheaper at Amazon!UPDATE. 11/10/2014Soooo . . . It lasted for two months and then it died two weeks ago. Okay, I read the reviews so I knew that was a possibility. Fine. I called Jawbone customer service and they were tremendously helpful. We couldn't revive it by phone, so the nice rep agreed to send another. Waited three days and never got the email saying it had been shipped, so I called again. Oops - the first rep didn't finish the replacement processing correctly, so the second rep finished it and said they'd send another. Waited three days, no shipping email. The third rep was very courteous and helpful. Said he didn't know what happened, but he'd fix it. Finally got the shopping email saying they'd sent it FedEx and it would be here in a week. WHAT?!? Don't you have to pay extra to ship something that slowly using Federal Express? Did they mean Pony Express? Started checking the tracking number. First they said it would be here Saturday. That sounded right. Then it changed to Tuesday. They shipped it something called Generic Ground. I'm starting to think that means they strapped it to the back of a sloth and asked him to stop by my house if he's ever in Virginia. So now I'm a frustrated, angry customer who still loves the product WHEN IT WORKS but may actually die of old age waiting for the freakin' warranty replacement!!!UPDATE. 11/11/14The good news is I finally got my warranty replacement band today. The bad news is it was dead on arrival. I mean DEAD dead. No lights, no vibration, nothing. I thought it might be the battery, so I charged it. Still dead. I thought it had taken so long to get the replacement that I forgot how to use it so I called customer service - again. The nice customer service rep - Patrick - helped me try a couple of things. Still dead. Finally his also very pleasant supervisor Gabe agreed to send another one overnight rather than generic ground/Pony Express, but it probably won't leave the warehouse until tomorrow. I still don't want to downgrade my review because I love this thing, but my patience is near its end. Maybe a bad review and a mass boycott of their products will make them figure out the problem and fix it.
