Easy to fill and closure holds up well
Easy to fill and closure holds up well. I bought this for back-packing and was a bit worried about the fold-over closure system but it has held up on several trip so far. I use it as a dirty water bag to scoop out of streams or lakes so I wanted a wide top to fill. I don't know if I would trust it full inside my pack as a carry option, maybe in an outside pocket. Much more durable than what comes with the sawyer squeeze and it turned my filtration into a gravity feed setup which I love.

What’s with the small opening and huge slider?
I love my other Evernew bags but with this one I don’t understand. The whole point of having a slider opening is size... to be able to clean the bag easily, fill it easily, close it easily. The opening is 3 inches!! What’s with that? The slider is 9 inches long!So I cut the bag of at angle to create a 7 inch opening that I can get my hand in to clean it and dry it.Now it’s a 1.5 liter bag. There are no issues with leaking... not sure why other reviewers have a problem.I’m sure the modified version will suit my needs.

Great product!
Works great as a dirty water scoop along with my Sawyer mini and Sawyer Squeeze. Then I have another Evernew (without the slide closure) on the other end as the clean water bag. The water tastes great and the bag has held up.

stands up by itself
I've had the evernew bag on a few trips and overall really like it. Pros: gusseted bottom allows it to stand up, clear material so one can see what is in the water, does not leak, and stored flat/unrolled the bag slides nicely in back mesh pocket of pack. Cons: small opening at top makes it hard to get hand in to clean/dry out and takes patience to fill with water when the opening flaps back to its folded state. Thought the closure mechanism would get in the way of the filter but it doesn't. Have had no problems squeezing the water threw the filter with the evernew but it is somewhat awkward due to the angle of the screwed on filter. Overall a good water bag.

Love the wide fill mouth
Used it with my Sawyer squeeze. Worked perfectly. Love the wide fill mouth. The clasp withstood vigorous squeezing. I'm buying a second one to double the filtering capacity on our family backpacking trips.

Ok while it lasted
Bought this for my AT thru hike, it got a hole pretty early on and that was that. I like that you can open it up to clean but it's too fragile, I guess as long as you are really careful go for it but it only last a couple hundred miles for me

Wide mouth opening.
Ordered this to replace the standard bags that came with my Sawyer water filter. The wide fold over mouth makes it easier to collect water than the Sawyer bags. The screw cap position does make things a little awkward for filtering into a pot or a hydration bladder. I ordered this one just because it was one of the less expensive options available with a wider mouth for collecting water.

I bought it to use with a Sawyer Squeeze filter ...
I bought it to use with a Sawyer Squeeze filter. It does the job very well and the larger opening definitely makes it faster to fill than the bags that come standard with the Sawyer.

Updated Review
REVIEW AS FIRST PUBLISHED:I was expecting a 2 litre sealed water bladder, basically a larger version of my Evernew 1500ml bladder. Instead the top is open, fully open, and you use the straw to seal it. I don't see what in the description on this page but it does explain the orange straw. (Also: if you lose the orange straw your unit is useless).Ho hum. It might be find for handling around camp but I wouldn't want to risk it in my rucksack. The construction is top notch (this is Evernew, after all, and they are basically the best in the world), I'm just unsure of the design.UPDATE:I have given a 5th star. I've used this bladder for a couple of years now and it's fantastic. I'd forgotten I'd given a wary review about it. When harvesting water from a high-volume stream you only need to use the neck of a water bladder; HOWEVER, that can be insanely difficult to harvest when there is very little water. The open open makes it easier, in some cases it plain just makes it possible, to harvest from very low-volume streams and trickles of water. I've also carried it in my rucksack and it has never leaked. I do make sure to seal it properly and not crush it, but yeah it has been fine in real life / in the field. Evernew 1500ml

Not really fit for purpose
I've been looking for a bag that has both a wide opening for ease of filling, and a thread that will fit a Sawyer filter for quite a while, and that I could see into, and thought I'd struck gold here. Having previously bought Evernew products, including a water bag, I thought this would prove equally good. It didn't.The bag's easy enough to fill, although an even wider opening would be even better, but getting the straw on to secure the open end when the bag is full of water is fiddly to say the least. It took me several attempts, much spillage and some pretty wonky closures before I managed it.Turning it upside down to use the filter is where it really goes wrong. The slightest pressure on the bag to squeeze water through my Sawyer filter, and pop, we are open again, and moreover, I now have wet feet. Of course this could in part be my hamfisted attempts to close the wide end that caused it to breach so easily. Either way, there's no way I could take this out into the field and use to collect and filter water. Imagine if having filled it, I had to carry it some distance. So, all in all, for the purpose I bought this bag for, it's no good at all, and I shall go back to using my non-transparent Sawyer bag.

Better than the one given with sawyer mini
I bought this for use with my sawyer mini filter. It fits the filter perfect but is the same material as the little squeeze bag they give you so its a bit rigid. The top opening can close up easily when you are filling from a stream and while the fold over sealing strip solution is ok, the strip is a bit long and nowhere to keep it eadily.I think i will stay on the lookout for a silicone bag with intgrated top seal.

Excellent water carrier
These have the reputation for being very tough, so I took the trouble to get some to use with my Sawyer Squeeze water filter. I've only field-tested them so far, so can't speak to their longevity from personal experience, but otherwise, I'm impressed. They seem tough, and the seal mechanism is simple and lightweight. I have modified one with a brass eyelet in the corner so that it can be hung from a cord loop, and this seems fine, too.

Top quality from Evernew
No nasty smell, easy to clean, good design. And it's light too. Can't fault it.I use this as water carrier for bike trips, holds a lot more water than typical water bottles and is easier to refill and to clean.
