POWERTEC 13 Inch Planer Blades for Ridgid R4330, R4331, TP1300LS Planer, Replacement for AC20502 Planer Knives, Set of 3 (128280)

Been shopping for a new planer since i have acquired a lot of red cedar to finish. Seems that one common complaint with most shop planers is the lack of quality and longevity with the blades that come with a new planer. I have an old Rigid 12" planner and have been using POWERTEC blades for a few years. I find that I get good service life from these blades. I do occasionally hone them while in the planer and I think this increases the blade life. You need a good diamond stone to hone the blades and of course, you have to be very careful not to cut your hand while honing. It would be helpful if blade manufactures provided "hardness" numbers as well as other technical information about the material used to make planer blades. The main drawl back form shopping on Amazon is the lack of specificity of product information there supplies provide.

the blades came in on time, which was great. description stated they where for the R4331, but they are actually for the 4330, having notches on both ends which only the R4330. installed and made them fit, as this project is already behind. been working with these blades, but they are actually performing less than the ones replaced. the finish isn't as good, and the machine is working way to hard for the amount of material being removed. acting like they are dull. The previous blades (original) had planed 600 feet of material before needing to be reversed. These are performing similarly right out of the package.

The knives arrives quickly. They were very sharp and I installed them right away with no difficulty.. My planer now cuts wood very smoothly. Thanks!!

Ive been milling rough sawn cedar and white oak for home projects. got these to replace the original knives. They do a good job and provide a decent cut, though I expected a little longer life out of them. I would buy them again for the price.

Knives arrived in a plastic tube and wrapped for protection. Fit my planer perfectly and last longer then original knives.

I used these new blades for the first time today. They did a very good job cutting and when I was done I felt the edges and they were still as sharp as when new. It looks like they will work well for me and the price was a lot better than what I usually pay for the three blade package. I would buy the same blades again next time I need blades. I can't get blades sharpened where I live!

I think I made a mistake when I purchased my 13" Rigid planer (about 10 years ago) as Home Depot really didn't offer easy servicing when I needed it, AND then discontinued the blades. What good is a planer without replacement blades? So I was very happy to find these after-market generic ones. Good blades and good value.
