Generic Replacement for Dyson Vacuum Upholstery Tool DC07 DC14

I didn’t realize how much I missed this attachment until I ordered this new one. Fits like a glove on my vacuum.

It’s the best vacuum upholstery tool I have ever owned.

For the price it works just like the original one. I can not complain about the price! The one draw back is that the material used to make this is different and the outside dimensions are slightly smaller so it does not snap into the storage spot designed to hold this tool.

We've had our Dyson forever and wore out this attachment. Found this one and now the only question is why did we wait so long to replace it.

Full disclosure: I purchased this to replace the original tool on my DC07 Animal, which after 10 years, is finally wearing out. This part is actually for the newer DC07. While it will fit the DC07 Animal, the connector is longer and will extend further than the original intended part in the storage housing. This I understood.The overall quality of this part is less than what you'd expect from a genuine Dyson replacement. Most notably, as others have posted, the red fabric pads separate much too easily. Like, the first time I used it. The swivel head also disconnected several times from the tool connector. This didn't happen with vigorous effort, either. More like slight contact with a table or chair leg. Sure, it will pop right back in, but over time, I would expect this to wear down, as well. Something I would not expect from a genuine Dyson part.For very light duty, at a quarter the cost of the genuine replacement tool, this may be passable for those with light-duty needs. You're getting what you pay for, however, and I'll be seeking out the genuine part.

The original tool that came with my Dyson was thrown out accidentally by a cleaning service. Didn't even notice until a couple of weeks later, so I wasn't able to make a claim. The pricing on this replacement part was so low compared to a genuine Dyson tool that I took a chance. I thought I had the DC14, but after actually taking a look at the model number on the vacuum, I have the DC15. The opening on this tool is slightly larger than my hose, so it didn't fit correctly. I had to find a creative way to make it fit. I simply took some tissue paper and wrapped it around the end of the hose a couple of times. The tool fit snugly on! No problem vacuuming the stairs. As far as fitting on top of the canister, it does not snap into place as the tool is slightly smaller than the original (not sure if the tool for DC15 is slightly larger??). It does fit in the compartment loosely, but have not tried vacuuming vigorously enough to see if it will fall off.

This generic replacement part was identical to the OEM part. All the velvet peeled of the original and it is our most used attachment with 2 cats and 2 dogs. Great replacement for a good price.

Can't imagine where the original upholstery attachment for my Dyson DC14 went to, but this is a great replacement. Fits the hose perfectly and works a treat. The only reason I am knocking one star off is that is doesn't QUITE fit the original holder location on the vacuum. It DOES fit, but just a TAD loosely. I know this is nit-picking, but that's how I roll. XD Otherwise, a great lower-cost option to an original (which is getting harder and harder to find). I recommend.
