The product is nothing short of amazing. Customer service is top notch. It is much fun for those flying the bird as those watching.Highly recommend it

A piece of junk, never worked.

Crashed once and broke. 80 for about 5 mins of use. I do not recommend this product

It's very unstable compared to quadcopter drones, so don't expect any kind of flying experience like that. But the challenge is part of what makes it fun to fly. It's very exciting once you get it to cruise around semi-reliably.The biggest problem, in my opinion, is that there is nearly 1 second of latency between making a command on the app and the bird actually responding. (Tested on an iPhone 8 -- this may not be true for all phones.) This adds an unnecessary layer of difficulty and was my main source of frustration.If you get it, buy the insurance with it. The first day I tried it, I flew it into a tree (apparently it wanted to hang out with its fellow birds) and it got severely damaged.If you are looking for an expensive toy, you'll have fun with it for a a few flights until it breaks. Just don't expect anything more than that.

This METABIRD is a remote controlled bird. It does look and act just like a real bird. I went and tried it out. First of all it is not very good indoors. You really need to be outside in an open space to get the hang of how to fly this. I was not able to get this bird to fly very far. It mostly just flew then glided towards the ground. I think that battery power is a very big issue with this metabird. I don't think that you get very much flight time until there is not enough battery power to fly the bird around. I will have to try to take it out one more time to see if I can really get this bird to have an enjoyable flight. It's a really nice concept but could really use some more work. Like battery power is one area that should be improved on this product.

First, I feel that I must I address the previous reviews because just from reading it is more than obvious that three (3) of them were obviously written by people who did not do the most important instruction of all. That is read the instruction manual front to back to front again. In addition, before flying, it must be understood! BEFORE touching, assembling, charging, downloading app, pairing or adjusting motor speed and wing ballast! Read the short manual first thing, then refer back to it as you start assembly. This new technology on the retail market people. Learn a little bit first maybe before ruining some inventive persons business. It is a very well written manual. Compared to manuals for similar items that sometimes read like a comedy sketch, this one is on the best sellers list! Very detailed in simple to understand language tgat only tells you what you need to know without any un needed filler to confuse. One reviewer said: “I never got it off the ground.” I am almost embarrassed for this person. Read the manual online to find out why. Someone else said: “broke the wing on first flight.” Impossible. Period. You may have broken it or it was a true defect in material (highly unlikely) yet if it was a defect, the company would have taken care of it with your choice of a few options. So far only one review makes a claim that may or may be fact and that is about battery life. Products guarantees 8 mins flight on 13 minute charge and that’s what ours does. It’s new and my 11 year old was flying in with a cell phone as soon as we had wing ballast adjust in first 3 flight tests. It’s was easier than I was expecting. Last comment about reviewers is that this item is designed to be very light weight like a bird or it would never fly. It is light not cheap, not poorly manufactured. It is just the way it was designed. And frankly the truth is that its ratio of durability to weight and strength of materials is impressive. And, that is another advantage, not a negative. It’s so light that when you lose it and it falls to the ground, it is unharmed like a feather is un damaged when you drop it. Understand wingbreakers and material anyalysts?So if you want to try Something new that no one you know has, and you want to get it delivered quick, open that box throw it on the charger and be flying before you know it, don’t buy this! Don’t blame your hasty ignorance on something awesome that you broke and then come back and write a bad review. Go pull the manual out of the trash to troubleshoot it first.Anyone that wants to try something new and check out a technology that’s just now be made available at an affordable price needs to buy. The bluetooth connected the first try, but then got lost somehow while we were trying to figure out how to launch it. It never left the ground. I had it working with the android app, at first it was working, then the bird lost its bluetooth connection with the phone or vise versa. Then to boot after figuring maybe it needed to charge a little more or something, the power switch fell off and I had to find a thin object to push it into the off position. It might be a fault of just a few bad eggs but I honestly feel like it wasn't worth 40$ from the quality of this thing even if it did work... That is based on me not getting to see it fly though so, just go with your gut if you see that as a red flag or not.

I'm a big fan of radio control anything, and was excited to try out this bird drone. I've got a decent bit of experience with drones and helicopters, and was looking forward to seeing the "biomimetic" flight that was advertised. Short answer: It works. Kind of. You need a wide open space, and VERY calm conditions, and even then, controlling it was incredibly frustrating. My longest flight ended up in a tree, and I can't see this little bird lasting all that long, it's incredibly delicate. All in all, it's a cool concept, but I do think it needs a lot more tweaking and engineering before it's ready to deliver on its promises.
