I use powder dip nails but like a 3D cat-eye effect that dip powders can't create. This item popped up on my recommendation list and decided to give it a try. I got great coverage on just 1 coat!I've read a couple of reviews that said they didn't get a good cat-eye effect from this, but the trick is in the timing: when you put the polish on you have to use the magnet THEN put your nails under a UV lamp shortly after as the effect doesn't hold for very long. If you like to take your time like I do, then I suggest you cure each nail as you go rather than waiting until you've covered each nail then cure them all at once.When using with my dip powders, I did the following:- use dip polish as you normally would but don't apply top coat after buffing- wipe/cleanse dip nails to get rid of any dust from buffing-apply a thin coat of cat-eye polish over dip nail, using magnet to create effect- cure under UV light for 60 seconds (will still feel a bit tacky even after curing)-once cured, apply dip top coat and let dry (I didn't wipe my nail after curing under UV light as I found the tackyness of the polish helps the dip top coat adhere to the nail better).I used this on top of just my build powder rather than use color dip and I am impressed! Photo doesn't completely give it justice! I can't wait to see how it looks with some of my colors! Highly recommend!

This stuff is great and works well with any translucent gel color you have. The technique you use is what matters most here. I mixed this together with neon jelly’s and it made it kind of muddy and not nearly as neon. So you need to do it in layers and not try to mix it like I did.Put down your base color of choice, cure.Use this cat eye gel next with a layer on top and this is important DO NOT CURE YET. You just use your magnet and get your design how you want before curing. Once cured, you are no longer able to use the magnet, it won’t work. Doing it this way will allow you to see your base color along with the silver cast/shimmer from the cat eye polish.If you don’t want the silver looking cast on top of your base color, then just reverse the first two steps - do the cat eye polish FIRST, use your magnet on it, then cure. Once you have your cat eye polish design and have cured, do one more coat and design the same way with magnet and cure. This helps build up the silver cast to be able to be seen better. Once you’ve done your two coats of cat eye and cured you will do your choice of color. The more coats you put, the less you’ll see your cat eye underneath. But just play with it until you’re happy.Also, if you don’t get the exact design the first time using your magnet with the cat eye polish, take the brush from the bottle and wipe it on the edge of the bottle as you don’t want excess product on your nails, and then swipe over the wet cat eye polish with the brush. This will move the magnetic shimmers all around again so you can start over with the magnet if need be. I know this all sounds so confusing probably but it’s really not and this gel is wonderful!

Love this stuff! I've been looking for a silver cat eye that I can use over colors or even under jelly gels gives a really cool effect! It comes with a magnet too!
