I thoroughly enjoyed putting this together. Beware - follow the instructions to the tee and you will be fine. I learned a lot when putting this together. And while my music box isn't perfect I think I can blame me as the mechanism doesn't turn as smoothly as it should - again probably me. But it works and is just adorable. I have another from this same company and can't wait to put it together! Highly recommend!

I’ve done a ton of these wooden kits so this isn’t a new endeavor to me. This is my first music box however, and it works very well. Some tips for a first timer are1) On these brand of kits they use wooden sticks (toothpicks) for many of the connections, and you will have to cut many in half. It makes the job SO much easier if you use sprue cutters/nippers instead of a craft knife, and it will allow you to snip the sticks flush with the other pieces, making a more attractive finished product. Trust me, you’ll want to have a pair.2) I recommend you have a sheet of medium grit sand paper, there will be a few parts that move close together and they tend to get snagged unless sanded a bit (the spinning disk on top comes to mind). 3) There are a few VERY fragile pieces with intricate laser cuts (notably the tree/ haunted house panels) I recommend you very lightly score the tiny connections on the outlines with a sharp xacto blade, raise the whole sprue up a bit with some card stock, and use something like a pencil (eraser side) to lightly press on the edges of the pieces until they pop down out of the sprue (similar process to cutting glass). Thankfully the kit gives you a few duplicates of the more fragile pieces. And lastly: 4) The finished product unpainted would look just fine because the very fine micro engraved details give it a lot of character, but i think painting it makes it look even better. I’d recommend using some fine tipped brushes, and some acrylic paint that’s thinned a bit, so it’s thick enough to coat but thin enough to let the laser engraved details show!All in all it was a fun project, not frustrating, simple to follow instructions, nice sounding music mechanism and awesome lighting feature. Would recommend! Also batteries not included, you’ll need 2.

The media could not be loaded. Overall a really fun little model! Took me about four hours including the painting. If you dilute acrylic paint about 2:1 with water, it makes a nice glaze that gives you bright colors but doesn't obscure the details. I wasn't a fan of the way some parts are supposed to be held together with toothpicks forced through holes, but you can just use Elmer's glue instead if you want. A word of warning: you REALLY have to sand and wax the moving parts thoroughly to get them to move at all. The kit includes sand paper, but I would recommend using a dremel tool if you have one. Pretty simple, but some parts were difficult to fit together. Instructions are in Ukrainian (?), but you really only need the pictures. Very pleased with the finished product.

This was so easy to assemble and came out great! I decided to paint it. I painted the “brick” panels before assembling to make it easier on myself and the rest after assembling. I used acrylic paint mixed with a bit of water to ensure the details showed through. It might have been easier to paint everything pre-assembly since my paint doesn’t add thickness. All-in-all, it was a quality kit and I enjoyed the build.

Came with a small part missing. Reported to seller and they sent out the part immediately. Very detailed instructions and a video on YouTube detailing the assembly instructions. Very pleased with purchase and end product.

This wooden kit is so often sold out for a reason -- it's awesome!It was easy to put together. The kit includes wax for lubricating parts and sandpaper, unlike some other wooden kits. The parts come out of their boards pretty easily. The detail is really lovely. The music box sounds great. There are some extra wooden parts should something break, but I didn't need any of them.The only things you need are a way to cut toothpicks flush to other wooden parts (I used wire snippers which worked perfectly) and a couple of CR2032 button batteries for the string of LEDs inside, which is a wonderful touch.If Halloween is one of your favorite holidays, and you like doing models, this is a great kit.

Many pieces r cut to not fit slots. There could easily be a better design.Will not turn even though everything in battery pack is connected

My daughter loves Halloween and music boxes are nice. She does not enjoy putting things together though. I sent it to my son who loves putting models together and, at the time, had extra time on his hands. So one purchase made two people happy.

Dommage. cette petite maquette halloween avec musique est superbe mais le colis est arrivé avec une pièce manquante que je n ai vu qu a la fin de la construction. en effet il me manque la manivelle pour la mecanisme avec la musique
