Looks like it came from the factory that way.
Due to the design it's difficult to get perfectly centered, but you can get close enough. Instructions are short and clear. Best tips are to use Isopropyl alcohol to clean the tank before applying the protecting pad. Also, tape the protecting pad in place to make sure that the outer edges remain in solid contact with the tank for the pad to adhere to the tank. Looks great like it came from the factory that way.
