Cuba Birds Folding Pocket Guide
I suppose the part that I did not pick up on before buying 3 of these pockets guides for me, wife and daughter was the part about Guide to Familiar Species. Over half of the guide of the 140 birds are familiar birds one finds in the United States and of familiar birds. Birders in the Field need pictures of birds, not only the endemics, but those less familiar to people that are birding. It may be great for the novice or one that does not want to carry the 1.5 pound Birds of Cuba with them but overall I was disappointed in it and hope if they have a revision they will add more of the birds that are not so familiar. Missing Cuban names
Buy extra bird cards to give as tips to your guides, or to the one-room schools you see in el campo. I'm giving four stars instead of five because the guide lacks the Cuban names for the birds. FYI I buy cheap binoculars on Amazon to give to my bird guides, they like this more than a tip. In the Sierra Maestra boys hunt birds with slingshots, trade binoculars and bird cards for their sling shots and maybe they'll grow up to appreciate la naturaleza as much as Fidel did.

Helpful Pocket Guide
This was a very handy guide to bring with me on my trip to Cuba - more useful than most of the bird books, which weigh heavily in your bags in a country where you have to do a lot of walking. While I could have used this better if it also folded in half the other way (to fit in a small fanny pack), it was a convenient guide to pull out for quick identification.

Quick reference
This is a nice quick visual guide to the birds of Cuba. It is by no means complete, but contains the most commonly seen birds and beat lugging the boo around. It does not replace the book, though!

Great Guide
We went on a bicycling tour of western Cuba and loved being able to identify the birds we found. The great photos in this fold-out guide made it easy to ID the birds. I wish the bird names were also in Cuban Spanish and I wish the birds were coded for the habitat where they would most likely be found, but super helpful anyway.

Perfect guide for quick reference
Took this on a two week trip to Cuba and it fit perfect in my day bag. I was able to quickly identify every bird that I saw except for one that was apparently only stopping over for the winter (an ornithologist helped me later identify). Highly recommend so you don’t have to carry around a heavy birding book.

I've found the Folding Pocket Guides for birds & wildlife are always very helpful in identifying a new creature whenever I'm in a different area of the world! It really enhances my enjoyment of what I see around me on vacations.

This must be the worst value for money I've ever come across
This is a single piece of glossy cardboard, measuring 8" by 22" - folded in 6. This must be the worst value for money I've ever come across.

Has the target birds
We haven't used it yet but it has all the target birds we want to see if we get to Cuba. Our trip was just cancelled!
