Secret Strength of Depression
I enjoyed this book tremendously. It is written in lay man's language with enough scientific information to make the point but not so much that a non medical person gets bogged down with it. It also had a very positive tone to it and showed that depression can be overcome and managed.

Canaries in a Mine
We depressives grow, die or suffer. We are canaries in the mine. We know what it is like...Too bad, people can't love us until we get better. Sooner or later all experience depression; if not when young, as we get older we all lean toward dementia. Study now and be prepared.

He shows how to embrace it and create a new person because of it
Such a good book, I gave it away and now am ordering it again.Dr. Flach tells what causes depression (feelings of irreparable loss) and how to embrace it to become a better person than you were before.

Very lengthy but something there for manyUseful to dip in and out ofAnecdotal and factualIrrelevant parts can be passed over without detriment to readers requirements
