Fizik Ardea Versus MG Rail Saddle

I went to a LBC (local bike shop) to have my sit bones measured to have an idea of what width saddle to go with. I then checked Fizik's website and this was one of the saddles that they matched for me.The rails are stiff with all the compliance of the saddle coming from the polymer base. I haven't had issues with rail slippage though fiber grip wouldn't hurt. Conversely the rails haven't seized to my saddle pin clamp.The ICS system is great if you run either a ICS light or saddle bag. However, the female portion of the ICS on the saddle does hinder the use of /some/ saddle bags, particularly those that are more rigid and/or bind really close to your saddle of choice. I experienced this issue with a Topeak DynaWedge. If I really wanted to I could just cut the ICS off of the saddle but that would affect the structural integrity of the saddle.The shallow channel through the middle of the saddle helps me out but for me the outer width of the nose is a bit too wide for my body. This minor personal fit issue is somewhat negated by my tendency to ride a bit more on the nose of the saddle. The arches on either side of the channel can and more than likely will be a bit uncomfortable at first but a few short rides on almost anything and your body can become accustomed. The only real issue I can foresee with this saddle outside the realm of improper fit would be mounting the saddle as one would in cyclocross.Tl;Dr Get a professional saddle fit at several LBCs and see if any have a demo option so you can get a feel for what shape of saddle is comfortable. From an objective stance this saddle is great on its own and for the price. The real key is whether it fits /your/ body and riding style. Most saddle manufacturers also have tools on their websites to help you ballpark a model.

Quality saddle for an amazing price. You can really see the Fizik quality even on this 'affordable' level saddle they came out with. I opted to get the Vs model for the channel design to relieve pressure. I am not super flexible so the fit of this saddle is great. It is very firm, but I am under the assumption that it will start to soften with wear and tear. I used this saddle to replace a spider twin tale style saddle and am happy with the increased comfort. I would not recommend this saddle however if you do not use padded shorts or bibs as it is still very firm.

fizik puts alot of thought into their products. The scuff guards are a plus as I am always leaning my bike right onto that point. The cutout allows the relief that I was looking for. I havent ridden more than 40 miles on this seat yet, but out to 40 it has been far and away better than the stock seat that it replaced.

My other seat is a 25 dollar cloud 9 seat that I use for commuting. This one is far superior. I've done several long distance rides on it. It took a couple of longer rides for me to get comfortable on it, because it is much stiffer than my other seat. But once you are accustomed to it, the seat is great.

The saddle definitely looks sick on my bike, and is crazy light. Also manages to keep my manly parts 100% pain free, which is a miracle considering the dense construction. The contract points are exactly where theyshould be. The only possible downside is that my sit bones feel like they're getting hit with a hammer after riding 30min! I'm hoping that will fade after it gets broken in a bit.

Like any saddle, I'm just trying to get used to it. I've only had about 5 hours on it so far, so a little too early to judge. Package arrived on time, with great packaging, and as described.

This is my 2nd Ardea; for the price you just cannot beat the craftsmanship and quality. I have tried a lot of different saddles and this one fits my sit bones and riding position just about perfect. The black on black saddle/graphics looks AMAZING on my single speed

great quality saddle. surprisingly comfortable for how rigid it is. i ride 20+ mi on a single speed mountain bike and remains comfortable. the saddle flexes well when peddling which helps with comfort. dont be discouraged about a saddle that costs a little more. your butt will thank you.

I had previously used a Charge Spoon saddle but never quite got on with it. It was OK for around an hour but not for much more. Had the Fizik for a little while now and it is great. If i had to be slightly critical it is not very grippy but that's about it, Overall would recommend.

Ich habe mich nach langem Suchen schließlich für diesen Sattel entschieden und ich bereue es keineswegs! Erstens ist er vergleichsweise recht günstig und Zweitens sitze ich sehr gut auf ihm! Das über den gesamten Sattel verlaufende "Loch" verhindert verhindert effektiv Druckstellen und macht ihn meines erachtens sehr bequem. Da ich ihn auf meinem All-Mountain-Fully montiert habe, war es auch recht wichtig gut hinter den Sattel zu kommen und wieder zurück...das funktioniert meiner Meinung nach sogar besser als mit dem Fizik Gobi XM. Er ist schön hart, aber leider etwas rutschig. Das ist jedoch nicht weiter schlimm...es ist der beste Sattel, auf dem ich je saß! - Klare Kaufempfehlung!
