Canarm LTD St. James BPT 52 Alabaster Glass 4 Bulb Light Kit, 52-Inch Ceiling Fan with 5 Blades, White/Bleached Oak Blades

I recently had to replace a Casablanca fan that was unfixable. I chose this one for the simple design and was intentionally looking for one without a remote control operation so there would be less chance for malfunctioning. It's in a sunroom with a white ceiling so I chose the white fan blades and I had the custom glass shades from my original fan. The ones that come with the fan are opaque white. Also, I have a very high ceiling so I had to add extra pull chain to make them reachable. I don't know how easily it installs because I used an electrician but he didn't run into any problems. The price was 1/4 of many from other big name brands so it was quite a good deal.

This fan was absolutely a disaster. I bought it because I wanted the brighter bulbs (i.e. more wattage) for the living room since it is the only light source. The fan arrived damaged - one shade was broken and one of the blades was damaged. I really needed to get this fan installed since our renters are moving in in a few days so I decided to use the shades from my old fan and to try and disguise the damaged areas of the blade with a dark stain. It gets worse..... when my handyman started assembling the fan, the bolts to attach the blades are not long enough and there were NO nuts provided and one set of washers was also missing! The bill from my handyman was about $200 DOLLARS EXTRA because of the time spent on a fan that we couldn't use and the time spent driving to Home Depot to get another fan. The fan we ended up getting has the horrible candelabra bulbs that I was trying to avoid, so I bought adapters that will allow me to put in a higher watt bulb. Should have done that in the first place.

I wanted to wait until I installed this to review it so now that it's installed, I can say that I was pretty disappointed with the quality of this fan/light. First of all the blade colors given in the description are wrong, it's white and very dark oak, NOT bleached oak (which would have matched my floor:(The item is made in China which should tell you something nowadays about how good it is, and the box it came in literally disintegrated (are they making boxes out of dust now?)upon opening it. Several pieces were damaged, one being the fan blade bracket whose very cheap finish was -peeling off- on one piece, and 2 of the blades though securely packaged and wrapped had tears on the dark oak side (thank God), so this side can never be used. AND, the blades seem to be made of cardboard, which explains how a color can be torn off (it's likely a decal of some sort)! Is wood that expensive? I don't know whether to blame the company or China for making this just another crappy imported product.If this was a $40-45 fan, I could understand, but not for $123.Amazon customer service was very nice but these are pretty hard to ship back when the box disintegrates and you've already installed the motor and light kit.

Can’t speak as to how easy it is to assemble as I hired a handyman to install but it looks nice and works fine

Item was damaged upon arrival. Removed from box and glass was broken. Returned

First fan had missing parts. Ordered a replacement fan. Quess what? Second fan had the same parts missing. DO NOT puchase until manufacture remedies this quality control problem.

Very nice and as advertised.But is harder than most ceiling fans for one person to put up without someone else or a brace to hold it in place while attaching to the ceiling.

J'ai reçu le ventilateur dans le styromousse pas dans le boite originale je comprend que c'est pour le suremballage mais si je devais le retourner pour la garanti je n'ai pas la boite originale. J'ai des logements je prends toujours ce ventilateur car il est très beau et très efficace et celui-ci c'était pour le stocker au cas ou j'en aurais de besoin.Merci Carole Gendron 450-775-0507
