Orbit 71003 B-hyve Smart Flood Sensor - WiFi Water Leak Detector (3-Pack)

A great way to monitor any potential leaks anywhere in your house. The only down side is the signal could get interrupted by distance or adjacent devices that block or disrupt wifi signals.

I bought these this summer and added them to my bhyve watering system. I have one under a diy utility sink in pottery studio, one behind washing machine/steam dryer, and one in the crawl space. I tested them before placing and the alarm was sensitive and quick. Huge piece of mind! Love that I can check status on app. (I didn't think I'd need to use the extra Wi-Fi adapter included, since I already had one for the hose timers, but ultimately the sensor in the crawl space was too far from the router and I did need to use the included Wi-Fi plug in. I appreciated that the app indicated to me that the crawl space sensor wasn't connected initially.)

This Orbit sensor appeared to be a good solution for sensing water issues in utility/laundry rooms. The price was rather excessive in my opinion, but I knew Orbit as a small company that could potentially be quick to develop and improve these sensors.My experience has been frequent connection drop-outs even though the distance from hub to sensor is relatively small with simple stud/drywall in between. Alerts have been the biggest issue:#1) Alerts can ONLY be sent to email not SMS text. As usual, many emails fail to deliver (spam filters, etc) or can easily end up buried in a busy mail client's inboxes. SMS is immediate and useful, email notifications that are read a day or two later are NOT!#2) False warnings - - In my case I receive a false "Water Alert!" 2 or 3 times/month. On inspection (usuall later - see #!) I see no evidence of water in the Laundry or Utility room.I have performed full reset/reboots on the system but still get the same behavior. Orbit responds with "Sorry you are experiencing issues" and "We will pass along your suggestions" but the problems remain. This does not seem like it is such a difficult technological problem, but perhaps Orbit engineers have larger issues elsewhere.After 1 year's experience with these sensors I cannot recommend them.

They keep connecting and disconnecting via bluetooth to the hub. 2 of them are less than 25ft away. Waste of money don't bother...there are better alternatives out there...this one is a terrible.

Have a large ranch and initially had difficulty getting the hub located where all the sensors would be picked up. Eventually I decided to add more sensors so I figured I would also buy an additional hub to make sure all sensors could connect. All the sensors connect but I cannot tell if they are all connected to just the one hub or are they split between the 2 hubs. Does the second hub do anything? I could not find any documentation referencing multiple hubs. Other than that the product has been reliable, alerts me to water and/or high temperatures and the battery life is great so far.

Works! But it is Bluetooth so if you have more than 300 ft distance or concrete between sensors it won’t work so get an extra base for each level of the home and don’t expect it to go through concrete. But it works! Told us when water was located in the area. Easy to set up too!

These were easy to set up, detect water very quickly, send a push notification through the bhyve app AND an email notification! This is exactly what I need. I haven't had any connectivity issues yet. All three sensors and hub are in the basement.

Gen2 hub doesn’t fit the wall adapter. It’s lose and so it doesn’t connect correctly. I Used a spare phone charging adapter. Seems somebody returned the product and they resold it with out checking it. I should’ve returned it but I didn’t want to wait.

Although I read there might be connection issues between the base and the units, I have no issues. They are apart between 10' and 30' and also base is in the basement and the farthest unit is on second floor.

Ce détecteur d'inondation est facile à configurer et les instructions sont faciles à suivre. Les trois détecteurs permettent de couvrir les points les plus névralgiques de la maison. Fonctionne en mode WiFi avec une application qui lui est propre au lieu d'être relié à Alexa, Apple ou Google. En plus il est facile de tester le bon fonctionnement et si on est en voyage, et que l'on a pas remarqué la notification, il y a un second niveau d'alerte grâce à un courriel qui nous est envoyé.
