CAP BarbellDeluxe Utility Weight Bench Color Series

This is not quite commercial quality, but for the price I don't expect that. Assembly was fairly easy. The handle and wheels are nice to have, to help you move the bench around a room. It's very sturdy and acceptably comfortable padding, not a huge amount of padding, but enough that it's fine. I upgraded from a flat Cap bench to this, and what an improvement with the incline!

Bench arrived exactly on estimated delivery date! It took approximately 30-minutes to assemble and I'm not that handy! The two tools necessary for assembly (an Allen and Box Wrench) are both included. All of the hardware is nicely prepackaged and clearly labeled. Both the seat and back rest adjust, with just a simple pull of a knob, which is spring-loaded. I am of average height (approximately 5' 10") and the back rest is plenty long to support my head and torso. As for the gap between the seat and back rest, it is virtually non-detectable. The fact that seat also adjusts, really puts you in in the optimum position, to perform inclined exercises! Overall, it is a very sturdy and professional looking piece of equipment. As an added bonus, my bench was damaged during shipping, as there was a puncture in the top of the box, which caused a small tare along the seam of the back rest. I contacted CAP Barbell Customer Service, via email and they could not be more helpful or responsive! Within a few days, they provided me with a new replacement! While there may be some better, more expensive benches on the market, for a home gym, this is a great purchase for the money!

Fairly easy to assamble. I like the fact that they main body i very sturdy and from a good metal gauge, same as both bases. I dont like the fact that one of the bases was a little bent when I opened the box, but the box did not appear to have any damage. I also feel like it wobbles a little, slight, but enough to notice. I think I will set up a rubber floor to see if that takes care of it. Finally I didnt enjoy the way the cap screws to control the inclide of the pad work. It's a simple mechanism but requires for the screw to be completely unscrewed to adjust the angle. Overall, for the price that I paid I say it is a great buy this week. Durability will require a little more time.

I like the fact that you can adjust the back and the seat. Perfect for Incline Presses. I wish the back portion near my shoulder blades was just a little wider because one shoulder blade is always on the side edge. It's a bit uncomfortable, but not a deal breaker. I like the wheel and handle feature for easy maneuvering. I wish the back feet on the bench were a little longer because if you push back while doing the incline press, it comes up in the front. So you have to make sure not to push back to hard while executing the incline press.

I purchased this bench after reading the reviews. It came in what seemed like rewrapped packaging. Bad sign. I unpacked the components and assembled the bench. It is OK for men <200 lb but I can see why some are saying there are stability issues. My problem was that the main frame piece came all scuffed up and had multiple places with surface rust. One of the pins also came cross threaded and did not thread into the frame nut. I reached out to CAP Barbell and they sent new pins which remedied that issue. They also sent a new frame and it arrived with the same kind of surface rust and scuffs……not much better than the first one. It works fine for the price but the QC of product quality is lacking and they did not offer any discount since I bought it on Amazon. The customer service is good but the product is just OK. I would not buy from them again as I had another issue with a product from them that is included in a separate review.

Edited: I have actually lowered to 1 star due to the extremely poor customer service I’ve received trying to get a replacement bench. The threads are stripped in the piece that is welded to the frame that holds the backrest into place. I have sent pictures and have had several very poor emails with their Customer Service. They want to send me parts to fix something that is welded. At one point, they told me they wouldn’t help me because I bought it in May (but I just received it on July 9).I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT OR COMPANY.This is decent product for a home gym and someone that it’s a fitness enthusiast. I would have given it a higher review but there’s an issue with the back rest. The metal bracket that the pop out fits into (to adjust the backrest) and tightens to secure the back is stripped out. It is a welded on part. Now the back rest cannot be tightened and is loose and insecure. I emailed the company a week ago and have not received a confirmation of my email, let alone any type of fix for it. I’m disappointed that the company has not responded. I do think it’s a nice product, but this has left a bad taste in my mouth, especially spending $200 and having to wait almost 2 months for delivery.

Good cheap bench. It does stand up vertical on an end on its own which is nice.How to make it sturdier and not wobble: The bolts they include for the seat and back are much to small in diameter for the hole and bushing or spacer. That that bushing (little Grey spacer thing that goes in the seat and back) to the hardware store along with the provided bolt and get the same length bolt but get the biggest size that fits in that bushing. Mine had almost no play or jiggle to it. Once I swapped those bolts out the bench was solid as a rock. Also crank that joint tight, the bushings turn on the bolt so bend make it as tight as possible while still letting the pad move semi freely.

I don't know what all the negative complaints are about this bench works great very sturdy looks good the only complaint is the top backboard seems to lean to the right and if they can send me a replacement I will be very happy

Got this for a garage gym im throwing together. Pretty good quality except the top and bottom pads don't line up and the OCD is real. Bought this a week ago when it was on sale here for $96 so cant complain.

After 4 months of heavy use, I can say that this bench is well worth the $200 price tag.I weigh 210lbs and use maximum 75lb dumbbell pairs on this bench flat and in incline position. I've never felt unsafe using this.Both parts of the seat can be creeky and only slightly wobbly at times. This always happens when sitting or getting up from the bench. Structurally, nothing has been compromised. All the bolts and welds are still tight.Adjusting the angles is simple to do with the screw knob. You'll always hear a loud locking noise to know the bench is secure.The wheels and handle are helpful, especially if you have limited space and need to constantly move the bench around.If I had to choose 1 con, it would have to be the weight capacity. Sure the 500lb limit makes me at ease, but a 1000lb limit would probably be better.I don't plan on ever getting anywhere close to that capacity, but safety is my ultimateconcern here.There are a number of commercial grade benches on the market with a 1000lb capacity. They usually go for double the price of this bench or higher. Safety should always be #1 especially when lifting heavy weights in potentially vulnerable positions.If you're on a budget or just starting a home gym, this bench is a great investment.
