Col. Ichabod Conk Glycerin Soap (Amber 4 Pack)2 1/4 ounce each

Several years ago I made the switch to shaving with a double edge (DE) razor. Compared to the overpriced Gillete multi-blade razors and can of foam, I get a much closer shave (for a lot less money) with the DE razor and building my own lather from shave soap. I've used the Col. Conk Almond soap with good success but I wanted to try something a little different this time and thought I'd give the Glycerin soap a shot.The glycerin soap has a very subtle clean smell. If strong scents bother you, this soap is a great choice. The lather built off of this soap always seems just a little thinner than what I've been able to build up using the almond soap and that seems to translate into a slightly less smooth shave. Still very workable, but it's just a touch more difficult to get the right lather for me.

First time using this shave soap and I must say, I am impressed. The Amber scent is not overpowering at all but is mildly noticeable. I would compare it to a very mild scented woodsy/musky scented aftershave lotion. This soap lathers up very well and doesn't dry out quickly after applying to the skin. The razor glides across my face and scalp with ease and the lather doesn't make my skin feel dry, sticky or itchy afterwards. I would gladly purchase again.

Been using this stuff for years. Tried the sample pack and while almond one was good, this one is better as a scentless option since their scent is really weak. Generally get 3 months out of each puck and have had no problems. In terms of smoothness and ease of use, this is really good. Not the best soap out there, but for the price hard to beat.Ease of use is the main reason to get it. You can get a nice good lather in no time with little effort.

pH balanced soap that does not sting my eyes and leaves no slimy film. I initially purchased this soap for my olde skool shaving mug + boar bristle double-edge razor shaving kit. I am now using the soap for my shower as well. Leaves my skin a smooth and smelling good too.

I have been using this shave soap for years and it is great. this soap keeps my skin from breaking out after I shave. It lathers up really good and leaves the skin soft and smooth.

yep, I'm a dinosaur using a straight razor but I'm OLD SCHOOL...fit both of my shaving soap bowls & had a nice smell afterward.

My headline says it all. Even after drying out the cake was soft. None of the cakes formed a decent lather and I was having to load my brush with more soap than I should have had to. I went through my four pack pretty quick. I'll continue my search for something better.

i like col. conk soaps the quaility is very good, the value for the money is great these 4 packs usually last me about a year
