ASUS Z Stylus for ZenPad (Z580CA; Z300C/CG/CL; Z500M)

Before I received the pen, I thought it was either going to be too small like Samsung's pen they have for the note or too large like HTC's pen that the Flyer and Jetstream use, but this is right in between.. It's perfect! The build quality is awesome, especially for the price. The attention to detail when designing this pen is outstanding, especially because it's only a pen and that's probably what you're thinking. Everything from the pressure sensitive tip to the diamond cut to of the pen.. It feels solid unlike the Samsung S pen which feels like I could snap it in half at any moment. The only issue I've had with the pen and it's not even a big issue are the two buttons on the side.. They're flush with the body of the pen so you won't accidentally hit them while writing but I now have trouble trying to press them when I'm actually trying to use them ( which isn't often). Unlike any other capacitive pen you would purchase, you can actually control the pressure you put down on the screen as well as having the ability to rest your hand and not worrying about marking anywhere you don't want to do so it's a plus when using it for signatures or sketching. Any tablet I purchase in the future, I will make sure it supports a pen like this because it definitely comes in handy.

Nice stylus with useful extra features. The two buttons on the stylus let you open applications for creative or productive work. They also let you copy screen content or erase parts of sketches you just made. Elegant design and a good feel in your hand make it a good choice - if you have a Z580 tablettablet or other feature device.

EDIT: Turns out the tablet Asus Zenpad 3s 10 was faulty, i exchanged it and now the z stylus worked immediately. If you are immediately having trouble with the z stylus out of the box then I would fist confirm your tablet is compatible and then I would consider returning your tablet. This was my issue. Happy now. Thanks Amazon.I wanted this to work so badly but it didn't. It worked when I first got it, even though it was slow to turn on... like a minute. After I set the tablet down and came back to it the z stylus wasn't working anymore. I checked the settings in my zenpad, yes it was still activated for stylus. I tried restarting the tablet. I pushed both buttons on the stylus. Nothing, no light. Next day I tried it again and it didn't work but then a few minutes of trying it it came back on and worked. I played with it for half an hour or so then set it down again. Never worked again after that. Asus troubleshooting has nothing that pertains to problems with stylus, kind of a joke.So returning the z stylus for refund.It is a quality item in respect to construction and feel.Kind of expensive but I would gladly pay $40 for this stylus assuming it worked.

I have had two of these pens now. I returned the first one because it would randomly stop working. I would be scrolling or typing and then all of a sudden it would just not work. Sometimes taking the battery out and putting it back in would help, and other times it would be dead. I got my replacement a few days ago, disappointed to find out it does the same exact thing. It's almost like it goes into "sleep mode" or something. But why would it do that when I'm in the middle of using it?? It also clicks on stuff all the time when you're not even touching the screen. Like when you're typing something, it won't only click on the letters you want it to, but a few in between as well. Or scrolling on Facebook and it clicks on the picture or video you're looking at even though you never touched the screen.

This item never got off the ground. I have the compatible tablet (zenpad 8: Z580CA) and I have ordered two of these, actually, and had the same problem with both. I had Z Stylus enabled in settings, a proper charged battery.The first pen would actually begin to work sporadically, but was like 20% dependable - only registering on the screen at times (the icon would show up in the top right, and the pointer icon). But it would cut off randomly, and I thought it must be a problem with the battery. Changed the battery. Did not work at all after that (yes I took special care to insert the battery the right way, at all times.)Then, ordered a replacement. The replacement never worked at all, and I ordered an expensive back of AAAA batteries to ensure charge wasn't a problem (the biggest criticism of this product is it quickly runs out of batteries, being that it can't be turned off in proximity to the tablet.)This was a really big, expensive disappointment. I have contacted ASUS for technical support. If they can give me a simple fix that proves user error on my part, I will change my review. But it looks like plenty of other people had this problem too.

Love it and very usefulHowever if it works on the return and pages button would definitely be great !!and can use the other side of the stylus as eraser

This is a very frustrating stylus, so I find myself using my finger more often than not, which is a shame since it is a very important feature for me. Samsung's S-pen is, by far, a much better stylus. The Asus S3 10 (stupid name) is a really nice tablet; great screen resolution, fast, lots of storage, good sound, good battery life, very light, and great price. It's a shame their Z Stylus doesn't match the quality of the tablet. Kudos to Asus for making a high end Android tablet when no one else seems to want to, but shame on them for not coupling it with a great stylus.

The item and the delivery spot on. Unfortunately my tab does not want to communicate with it. ASUS is misleading people and delivers zentabs 10 to the Philippines which are not compatible with the stylus. However the first display on your tab is for s noteand the use of the stylus. Now i have a stylus i cant use. But your performance in delivering thumbs up

Excelente Stylus, lo uso con mi Asus Zenpad Z500M si problema, lo reconoce automáticamente! Lo único que no me gusta es UE usa pilas pudo haber sigo con batería!!!

Zenpad S 8.0 FW 4.3.2.0 にて使用致しました。うちの端末の個体差としての問題かは不明ですが、AC接続時には誤タップ問題が発生して使えません。プラグを抜くと正常に使えますので、充電中の問題ですね。この問題はメーカーには報告してありますので、時期に解決されると思います。使用感は個人的には上々です。タッチペンを使うのは初めてですが、予想より面白いと思いました。保護フィルムは貼ってません。貼った場合は感度的問題は出てくると思っています。ちょっと気になったのは、ペン内蔵の電池が単6電池なので、コンビニ等で手軽に入手は難しい点。そこまで電池の消費は酷くないと思いますが、どこかで予備電池は用意しておいた方がいいと思います。概ね総合的には上々です。改善の余地はありますが、これから良くなっていくと思います。

The product itself is really good. It is not perfect, but still really good. It does not have a rechargeable battery ... Which at this point in history I wish was forbidden already ... xD I will admit this battery lasts for a long time.The stylus feels really good in hand. I wish I could magnetically place it with the tablet, as the Microsoft Surface one's. This is the main reason why I don't use it that much.

気になっていたZenPad S 8.0をやっと手に入れたので、せっかくなのでこちらも購入してみました。付属品はペン本体と駆動用の単6電池1本、簡易説明書、替えのペン先1本と交換用の金具です。同時に「agrumes ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 真空ぬるぬるコーティング ガラスフィルム 0.3mm」も購入したので、フィルムを貼る前と貼ったアトで書き比べをしてみました。本体の設定＞Z Stylusから機能をONにした後、プリインアプリの「SuperNote」で方眼線等を書き比べてみましたが、どちらも点線になったりすることなく滑らかに線が引け、また文字等もかなり思い通りに書くことが出来ました。筆圧の検知に関しては今回選んだのが固いガラスフィルムなので若干厳しくなったような気もしますが、それもあくまで「気がする」レベルで、むしろフィルムを貼ったアトのほうが太線を書く時などに躊躇せず力を入れられるようになった分、良かった気もします。またアクティブスタイラスペン独特の機能である「ホバー」に関しても違いは感じられませんでした。本格的に繊細な絵を描く人などはやはりフィルムは無い方が良いのかもしれませんが、私レベルならフィルムのありなしで特に違いを感じるようなことはありませんでした。むしろ私のような初心者は先述したように、画面をペンで引っ掻き回すのにためらいがなくなる分、フィルムがあるほうが良いような気がします。もちろんフィルムの種類によっては特にペンの滑り具合などで違いが出る可能性はあると思います。本品の動作時間は説明書によると130時間、スタンバイは6カ月となっていましたので、かなり持ちはいいと思いますが、私は念のため同時に「Amazonベーシック アルカリ乾電池 単6形4個パック」も購入しておきました。せっかくZenPad S 8.0を手に入れたならこのスタイラスペンを使わない手はないです。滑らかな書き味は私のように絵が下手でも十分楽しめると思いますし、また、いわゆる「ペン」としてだけでなく、範囲指定してスクリーンショットをとったり、ASUSプリインアプリではこのペンのみで可能になる色々な機能があったりします。ちょっと詰めが甘いと感じる部分もありますが、とにかくこれだけ多機能なツールならオプションでなく付属品でも良かったのではと思うくらいの優れものなので、すべてのZenPad S 8.0ユーザーにオススメしたいと思います。
