SFP to RJ45 for Palo Alto Networks PAN-SFP-CG 1000BASE-T Mini GBIC SFP Copper RJ-45 100m Transceiver Module

Works as specified and required. Overall a decent purchase. No reasons not to recommend.

I have a three-year old HP/Aruba 2530-8-PoE+ (J9780A) switch at home (with old, factory installed firmware) and 20+ brand new HP/Aruba 2350-48G-PoE+ (J9772A) at work. I know from experience that HP goes out of their way to make you buy their brand SFP modules. This would be fine if I could get them locally or within a day or two, but as lead times are usually longer for the OEM SFP's, I stumbled across these and thought it might work in a pinch - and these were 1/6 the price of OEM. It may be compatible with HPE/Aruba switches that require a J8177A or B or C, but this is definitely NOT a compatible replacement for the J8177D that the HP/Aruba 2530 series switches require. I've read on other Amazon reviews that they are compatible with the 1930 series Aruba Instant-On switches. These didn't work on either of the two I just purchased to evaluate the Instant-On platform. I've used other Fiber Mall SFP's that work great for other brands of switches, but I think these shouldn't be labeled on Amazon as being J8177D compatible. YMMV but I think it's a hit-or-miss proposition at best.

I have purchased approximately 30 of these over the last year and they have worked flawlessly. I'm never buying the expensive Cisco/Meraki branded modules again.

The SFP was installed in a Dell switch. When plugged in, the switch recognized it as an SFP+ 10G instead of an SFP 1000MB. I would say the firmware on this SFP is incorrect.

Inserted in HP-2620 and HP-E3800 switches with latest firmware and switch logs show that this module is not a compatible HP Module... Don't buy this if you need an SFP that works...

Great value for the price, especially compared to the stock HPE/Aruba SFPs. It worked fine in an Aruba Instant On 1930, and negotiated to 1000 Mbps without having to configure anything on either end.

My first of QTY worked perfectly having s/n prefix MT2194xxxx. So that was great, and I ordered 6 more, but it's hit and miss, ie first 2 of 6 had s/n prefix MT2140xxxx failed HP's diagnostic and ask Amazon to replace them. The next 2 that arrived then the s/n prefix MT2194xxxx worked, but s/n prefix MT2140xxxx failed HP diagnostic and was returned for refund. The next day 2 more arrived with both having s/n prefix MT2194xxxx and also failed HP diagnostics, so they were returned for full refund. The box label is also different, ie the box label stating "Made in China" don't work having s/n prefix MT2140xxxx. However the boxes with s/n prefix MT2194xxxx doesn't state it was made in China and those transceivers worked perfectly, ie 3 out of total of 8 so I gave only 3 stars out of 5...
