Saved me HUNDREDS!
My trunk latch was broken for over a year. First it was stuck shut and would never open, then it was stuck open and never would shut. (It's a long story.) So glad we had the idea to try to fix it ourselves!! In minutes, we were able to replace the latch and the trunk was opening and shutting again... For $30! I took off a star because I have to use a little force when I shut it to get it to latch close and not bounce back up. I'm not sure if that's the latch's or my trunk's issue. But it does seem to get easier and easier... It may have just needed breaking in.If your trunk latch is broken, it's worth giving this a try before paying the dealership hundreds of dollars!! (Btw, we've had the latch in the trunk now a few months.)

Perfect part for my 2016 Elantra trunk
I took my 2016 Hyundai Elantra to the dealership & they wanted over $200 just to look at my trunk that wouldn’t open & that wouldn’t include the parts if something needed to be ordered so I passed on it. I had 62,000 miles on it & they said my warranty expired at 60,000 miles. No empathy there from the dealership Luckily, my husband realized when he pushed on the button on the trunk it would click then click again. If he pushed up hard after the first click he could get it open before the second click. I ordered this part on Amazon & watched a video on how to replace it, well actually my husband did it & it worked!! Please if you have a trunk problem with your Hyundai, believe in yourself & try to fix it yourself. I think there is an issue with this part and it is definitely a design flaw. No way to get in the trunk if it won’t open other than going through the back seats which a a HUGE hassle. Glad we didn’t have to do that. I recommend this product highly!!!

Very Satisfied. Like the original and easy to replace.
Purchased for my 2016 Hyundai Elantra after my original failed to catch when attempting to shut it. I had watched a YouTube video where the person showed step by step how to replace the part and linked to this product on amazon. People in the comments were saying that the dealership wanted $185 and shops wanted $300 to do so. I feel grateful for videos like that and to be able to buy and do it myself as it did not take long to do so nor was it complicated. Tested it with my key fob, the button on the trunk, and the lever in the front. All three methods work with this new part. Would recommend to people that need this part. 10/10.

Easy to install, and working wonderfully!!
It’s been couple of weeks I bought and install this tailgate latch on my Hyndai Elantra 2016 Limited and fitted perfectly, and it’s been working like it was never replaced (before the original stopped working of course) highly recommended, super easy to install! I’m a 30 year old female, YouTube the whole process and was able to install in less than 10 mins, no boyfriend needed :)

Easy install - Low quality
Easy to install. Will last you 4 years of regular use if you are lucky. Plastic latch. If yours breaks and you are ordering this, remove your gate/trunk light until you put the new one in. Even if you securely close the gate/trunk, the light will remain on and kill your battery.

Make sure it's for your car exactly. Pay attention to the bracket it is different than some cars
I had to give it a one-star only for the sheer fact that it's specifies that it will work on my car but it did not. I put in all the info I have a GT model car not a coupe were limited. GT is not available in any of the settings on this ordering form. So I end up getting the wrong product. For the price this is worth it for your car if it does fit. Find cost me $243 to get the right part.

Fits but won’t open with key fob
The part fit and the trunk latches properly but I cannot open the trunk with the key fob. I had the leads tested and the voltage was correct but still won’t work with key fob, have to open it with the release latch inside the car which is very inconvenient. Looking for a refund! Will have to buy part from dealer for a couple hundred dollars. You get what you pay for I guess.

Good Product, Works
The original stopped working a good 2 years back, but I was always able to force it open manually. Stopped closing, so it was clearly time for replacement. This product was a few bucks more expensive than the competitors on here but it was ridiculously easy to install and seems to work totally fine. Would definitely recommend, I forgot how smooth the trunk was supposed to open and close. The real question will be how long will it last? Hopefully for a good while!
