I was concerned these wouldn't work as well as the glass ones, but work just as well and are easier to store when not in use.

I love these globes. I bought 10 big and 10 small. I was concerned about some of the reviews, but took a chance and am so happy. They arrived quickly and undamaged. Just make sure you have good quality, moist soil. If the soil is dry or sandy, the water will just run right through.

Hit or miss- on established plants (potted a while ago) where soil was somewhat compact and it took a bit of effort to dig these in, this worked great! After a month away they were wilted just slightly and came back after a single watering. However, on my newly potted plants, where I used organic soil and these slid right in, the water drained right away and was essentially useless. So I think it depends on the soil more than anything else.

After purchasing similar blue-colored items individually at our local big-box store for a higher price, I found this set of clear watering bulbs and was happy to see them sold in greater bulk for a lower price.Visually, they are the length advertized BUT the diameter of the tube is quite small! It took forever to fill them, but that was an inconvenience that I could deal with as long as my plants would stay hydrated. We "planted" the bulbs in our flower pots and left for vacation.Upon our return there were a number of these clear bulbs that were still full of water! The tip of the very narrow tube was full of dirt and the water could not drain properly. When compared to the original blue bulbs, I realized that this item has about half the diameter of the blue ones.Considering the cost of plants, I would pay more for the higher quality watering bulbs in the future to ensure that the plants are not limp when I return.

I recently bought the Alotm Plant Watering Bulbs and let me tell you, it was a disaster. I give it a solid 1 out of 5 stars. I had high hopes for these little plastic globes, but they turned out to be a total disappointment.First off, let me start by saying that the packaging was ridiculous. It was like they were trying to protect these tiny things from a hurricane or something. The box was huge and filled with a ridiculous amount of padding. I mean, come on, it's four tiny plastic balls, not a Fabergé egg!Once I finally managed to get the bulbs out of their ridiculous packaging, I attempted to fill them up with water. And that's where the real trouble started. It turns out that these globes have the smallest opening ever. It took me forever to fill them up without spilling water all over the place. And even when I finally managed to fill them up, they didn't hold nearly enough water to keep my plants hydrated.But the real kicker came when I realized that these "automatic self-watering" bulbs were anything but automatic. They leaked like crazy! Every time I tried to use them, water would just pour out of the bottom and onto my floors. I ended up having to clean up a huge mess every time I used them.To make matters worse, I found out that these bulbs were not compatible with all types of plants. Some plants require a certain amount of moisture, and the Alotm Plant Watering Bulbs were not able to meet those needs. I had to constantly monitor my plants to make sure they were getting the right amount of water, which defeated the whole purpose of buying the bulbs in the first place.And let's talk about the size of these things. They were advertised as "small", but they were actually so tiny that they barely held any water. I had to constantly refill them throughout the day just to keep my plants alive.The one thing that I will say about these bulbs is that they were pretty funny to watch. Every time I filled them up, I felt like I was playing with little water toys. But that's not exactly what I was looking for when I bought them.And don't even get me started on the quality of the plastic. These bulbs were made from cheap, flimsy plastic that felt like it could break at any moment. I was afraid to handle them too much for fear that they would crack or shatter in my hands.I also found that the bulbs were not very durable. After just a few uses, one of them started leaking even more than before. It was a complete mess, and I had to throw it away.To be fair, I did try to contact the company to see if they could help me with my issues, but I received no response. It's clear that they don't care about their customers or the quality of their products.All in all, I would not recommend the Alotm Plant Watering Bulbs to anyone. They were a complete waste of money and time. If you want to keep your plants hydrated, just stick to a good old-fashioned watering can. Trust me, it's not worth the hassle.

I’ve used a similar product in the past so I already knew that these little things are a great way to keep the plants hydrated and happy! Good value and pretty easy to use once you get the hang of them. Best to dig a hole with the spout first while the bulb is still empty - don’t try to put it into the soil for the first time when it’s full. Take care to shake out the soil of the tube before refilling.

Highly effective and easy to use. I refill them once a week and my plants are thriving. Any review saying they don’t work I have no clue why they wouldn’t. Any review saying they fill with dirt—they aren’t wrong, dirt does get in it but it still works. I have a stick I use to push the dirt down into the globe before I refill with water. They still work very well.

Maybe I’m not using these right, but they seem pretty self explanatory. Fill the bulb with water, poke the bulb in the soil next to the plant. Well, two things either happen. One, soil gets in the hole and plugs it up making it impossible for water to come out, or two, nothing plugs it up and the water just runs out and ends up in the plastic catchalls I have set up under the pots. After this happened the first time, I thought, “Maybe the soil was really dry and the water just didn’t have time to soak before escaping.”. I pulled the bulb out to refill and try again. The bulb had soil stuck in the hole and now it is inside the bulb. The bulbs don’t open and eventually, this will build up and clog the whole thing. I bought these in hopes that I wouldn’t have to have someone water my plants during vacation. I’m going to have to find another way.

It is not at all what I was expected. These are very small (perhaps have a day's worth of water). I paid for the large ones and received four small globes plastic balls. It's a shame because they are very good, I have big ones and they do the job well. I wanted to have more for other plants inside the house. I am not happy with this purchase.
