Average and Basic Book
This book is more about hunting basics and can be applied to most other types of animals. It seemed that it a deer hunting book and he just replaced the word "Deer" with "Javelina" There was really no insight on to the Javelina species, behavior, habitat, food sources or any other things. The diagrams were deer diagrams swapped with Javelinas. And finally, the field dressing information was terrible (and did not mention the Javelina scent gland).I regret buying this book.

Very little specific javalina information here
Glad I downloaded the Kindle Unlimited version and didn’t spend any more money. This book was more of a primer on hunting for the beginner instead of a dedicated javalina hunting book. There was probably 4 paragraphs of interesting information and the rest was very generalized hunting recommendations.I might recommend for a novice. Not for a seasoned hunter looking for specific details on javalina.

Not About Javelinas
This book is not about javelinas. The hunting information is basic at best. Pictures and illustrations confuse javelinas (Pecari tajacu) with feral hogs (Sus scrofa) despite being evolutionarily and ecologically distinct. Many of the photographs (including the one on the cover) are of feral hogs. Illustrations of tracks are also pig tracks.I purchased the book as a part of my research on human-javelina relations. One thing it illustrates (that is also clear in interviews with people) is that javelinas and hogs are often confused. This is problematic since hogs are much more aggressive, destroy ecosystems, are MUCH larger. Javelinas generally only get about 50-60lbs. Hogs can be >200lbs. Javelinas also do not root up the ground and create wallows.Overall, this book requires much more research into javelinas. Conversations with Arizona or Texas ranchers that conduct javelina hunts regularly would be a great starting point for better information.

First of all you need a picture of a Javelina on your book cover.
How can you write a book of any kind about Javelina when on the cover you have a picture a ferral Pig.
