I found the gel pad to be a little thin, thus not providing enough support for me.It helped some, but would like more cushioning effect.

I brought this for long car rides when the seat gets uncomfortable. This seat has worked surprisingly well in that regard. The foam is firm and feels nice. It gets much more comfortable sitting for long drives now. Much better than the car original seat.
