Prepare for a fairly long review as this product didn't have any reviews when I bought it so I want everyone to know what to expect (which is most all good). Over all to sum up what I'm about to say, this is well worth buying. This product is very well designed. It feels very well constructed and I don't have any doubts it wont last a while. I love the auto-reverse. You can set it to repeatedly reverse the tape or reverse only once so it plays each side only one time. When the tape hits the end it almost instantly reverses, so it's very quick and timely. Tape sound is great and doesn't sound cheap. Radio plays very clearly. I love that the fast forward/rewind works really fast, unlike other walkmans I've had in the past where if you want to fast forward through one side so you can play the other side you have to set it down and walk away for a few minutes. The radio tuning indicator is an actual indicator and moves as you tune the radio (I've seen reviews on other walkmans where the tuning indicator was just a decal and was fake so that's why I'm indicating that). I love that there's a simple little button you push to reverse the tape and it reverses instantly, no lag or delay. The speaker on it has a very slim profile since its built into the face of the tape cover so it's not made for a very loud output, but I can still play radio and tape loud enough to enjoy it just fine, so it's not enough to dock this product any points. The recording on it does work, however it doesn't appear to have an erasing head which might be why the play back sounds staticy, and if you want to record over any current recording the play back gets progressively more staticy. You do have to speak fairly loud into the microphone as it doesn't pick up sound super well. However I didn't buy this for the voice recording so I'm not really disappointed by that. The buttons feel tight and don't feel like they'll give up after a week of use. Overall, I give this a 4.8 out of 5 because I was a little sad about the lower performance of the voice recording, but everything else works so well. I will come back after a couple months or so and give a progress update since I've seen reviews for other portable tape players giving up after like 2 or 3 weeks.UPDATE: Its been a few months since buying this and it still works great! Absolutely nothing has gone wrong with it and I'm still super happy about it! Happy purchasing!

I received this cassette player in the mail today and let me tell you it beats out the Sony Walkman in every way. The play speed is very consistent and plays much faster than the Sony Walkman. The days of slow sounding mixed tapes are in the past with this thing. I like the fact that the rewind and fast forward functions run fast like a stereo cassette deck. The sound when hooked up to a pair of headphones is amazing. I just want to warn you that headphones are not included with this play so you have to buy your own. I found a pair of old school Panasonic RP-HT21 Headphones on Amazon for this player and let me tell you they go perfect together. I haven't tested the voice recording feature yet, but I really didn't purchase this for voice recording, just playing music. The radio picks up good reception especially when the telescopic antenna is extended. The speaker is load, but be sure not to turn up the volume too loud as the speaker will sound distorted (maybe it might be my unit). Oh and it is a very solid unit and doesn't feel cheap like those other ones being produced these days. All i can say is buy this cassette player with the set of headphones I recommend buying for it instead of of shelling out ridiculous amounts of money for a Sony Walkman which is sup par. A 5 Star cassette player indeed!

This is an inexpensive radio that I bought primarily b/c I have a 1990's much loved exercise cassette that I cannot replace in a newer format. It works fine for that. When I use the radio outside when doing yardwork, it is very inferior to other (indoor) systems I have. (With the antenna pulled out the whole way, even local stations are very static-y.) Again, tho, it serves the purpose of giving me background noise. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who wanted to listen closely, tho.

This player sounds pretty good for the money. I liked the added Antenna and the fact that you can listen to this device without headphones (like the old FM radio days). Overall, this product is easy to use and fairly sturdy.

I use this to record my voice. It does so but is a little noisy. . It has a volume dial on the radio that also adjusts the volume on the tape recorder. It has continuous play and is easy to operate. The radio is good quality.UPDATE: I added a star for good customer service.

On the bright side, the radio part works fine. But I bought this in an attempt to listen to some old cassettes I've had forever. For some reason, the cassette wheels turn but the sound cuts off after about 2 seconds. I've tried it with several cassettes, happened every time. Super disappointing.

Good sound and fair price.

This cassette recorder works fine for the price. I purchased it to record my conversations with my 93 year old mother . It’s not concert quality or anything but I appreciate that it actually does what I need it to do. I also like that it’s light and easy to use.

I just received this Walkman and it's great. I love the nostalgic feeling I get from it. Playing cassette's again that I had given up on or even just listening to the radio. The speaker, while small is surprisingly effective and the unit is very compact. I didn't have many expectations of this unit to be honest, but this one has surprised me and I enjoy listening to it, using cassette's again and tuning in the radio again the old fashioned way. A great little gadget, very happy with it.
