Astro Tools 1442-A34 10-24 Mandrel

If you have never used a rivnut tool, and you want to install the circular rivnuts in a promaster, you will need to order of few of these. When you over power the 10-24, you snap them off in the wall and that nut is done. (just drill a new hold, prime it for rust and move on. ) Astro warns about - however too many videos warn about "not tight enough" so...snap away.The biggest hint I can provide is make sure the nut goes all the way on the mandrel and no further. The mandrel should not go past the nut. Then when you pull, it will start easy and then bind a little. - STOP then. Test if it rotates and if so, a crank or two and that should do it. I went through 4 of these in the learning experience. (BTW - M8 Hex are the hex versions for the promaster)

I purchased a rzx rivnut and snapped the 10-24 mandrel (my own fault), I purchased this one in the hopes it would fit and it fit perfectly. I can not attest to the build quality, but it looks to be identical to the one that came in my kit. So this review is to really let everyone know this will fit the rzx rivnut machine and will probably fit all other chinese makes.

I learned the hard way that it is possible to put too much muscle into the task when securing rivenuts :).This is a different brand than the oddball named tool I have, but I gambled that probably most of these inexpensive Made in China rivenut setting tools are of the same design. I lucked out and this worked perfectly.

I was new to the tool and broke this the 3rd time I went to use it. After replacing the Mandrel it is 100% perfect again. It was user error and now I love the tool all over again.

Like the title says very delicate. I think you should only use aluminum rivets with the small size mandrels.

Is perfect replacement for one I broke just remember don't pull too hard when inserting rivet nut
