Longtime customer favorites, our heavy-duty, powder-coated steel tomato cages are taller, wider and stronger than old-fashioned cone-shaped supports. And unlike flimsier versions, these are strong enough to support full-grown vines loaded with tomatoes. The tomato cages support plants on all sides (no tying needed) and keep plants up off the ground for better air circulation, cleaner fruit and fewer diseases. Large openings make harvesting easy, and the cages fold flat for off-season storage. In windy locations, we recommend anchoring with our Extra-Tall Earth Staples , sold separately.

Sturdy but not really tall
These are very sturdy and easy to use and store. The photo shows the Gardener's Supply cages as the smaller of the two types of cages. I purchased the tall ones from a local store three years ago and they were $20.00 each. This is more than my new ones and not as easy to use as the Gardener's Supply cages, but much bigger and I'm sure my tomatoes will fill the largest ones again and over spill on the smaller ones. Not happy it took me 15 days to receive them, five more than promised.

Solidly built, supports even large indeterminate tomatoes
These are great tomato cages. They pack flat for shipping, and are easy to assemble without tools. You just fold them into place and stick the ends into the ground. I have eight huge tomato plants growing in my 4x8 raised bed, and none of the vines are touching the ground. The only thing that would make these better is the ability to stack them, or add an extension on top. Some tomato plants can get 6-8 feet tall and it would be nice to have more vertical space to grow.

The struggle ain't worth it - these are not the tomato cages you are looking for
I really wanted to love these. I plant tomatoes every year and am always looking for a better tomato cage system. Sadly, these ain't it.To start with, the cages were jammed or locked up somehow when I got them out of the box. They were difficult to just get open, as the wire sides were locked up against one another. I had to wrestle each tomato cage to get them opened.Assembling them then turned out to be a huge hassle. I'd get one wall locked in place, only to have another wall pop out of its hinge. Another reviewer wrote about modifying the hinges by bending the (very thick) wire to keep it from popping out, and I think that's probably the only way to actually keep all four walls in place.Once assembled, the cages were then equally hard to just get in the ground. Pressing down on them releases those locks you just put in place. Reversing the direction of the hook/eye closure of the wall hinges would help here, but that's a design flaw and something the manufacturer would have to look into.Last issue - these cages are comically small. The "extra tall" cages are more appropriate for what tomatoes here in NC grow to at an average height. Once I got these cages in the ground and saw how short they were, I knew that - assembly struggles aside - they just would not work. And, finally, they sent me the wrong color. I really wanted those red cages!I pulled them out of the garden the same day I put them in. I'm building some cedar cages this year. Maybe I'll find the perfect cage next year!

Quality, foldable, sturdy and tall enough to handle large growth.
I had some older tomato holders and my plants got too big for them and then fell over. With these cages they are sturdy, can handle taller plants and they withstood the wind. Highly recommend. I liked them so much I gave a couple to my sister as a gift. They fold up flat which is very nice for storing.

Very good quality
I ordered the product to be used as tomato cages for determinate tomatoes. The product arrived intact, is of very good quality and easy to use. This is my first season using these cages so I cannot speak to wear and tear or longevity.

Sturdy and reliable tomato cages
These cages are much more sturdy than the old cone-shaped cages. I no longer have an issue with the tomatoes falling over as they get heavier.

Really Poor Quality
I’ve purchased these before directly from the Gardeners site and they were great. This new set (green) are flimsy and cheap. Several of the joints broke as I was JUST opening them up. AND now I see rust at the broken joint. Quality is garbage. Do not buy!

I like these
I really like these. They will fold flat at the end of the summer for storage. I like that they are a little bigger than the ones from the store in town.
