Perfect Fit and worked well

This valve was part of the shower system installed in my house in 1996. The original lasted quite a long time, before it got too stiff and nasty looking. However, after 19 years this item has become very hard to find. I was going to have it special ordered from a local plumbing shop, but Amazon had the part cheaper with 2-day prime shipping as an added bonus. The new part fit perfectly and works GREAT!If you are upgrading the handles too, I would recommend getting a new metal lever instead of the cheap plastic ones that are at all of the big box stores. It will last much longer and bring your shower back to a like new state. It can be found here on Amazon too.

After watching several youtube videos, I installed the water MIXET. All was good for several days, than the showerhead started dripping. Couldn't shut it off completely. I reinstalled it again making sure I used enough plumbers grease on the o ring. I was good for a few hours than started dripping again. Somtimes I can turn the hot / cold water lever a certain way and can get the water to quick dripping. Somtimes this was good in morning, but when I got home after work, it was dripping again. I don't know what else to do.

Part number differed by a hyphenated letter attached to the origin part number but the valve was exactly the same though chrome and not brass coated. None the less, got my shower back!! A great valve too- we have hard water and the valve lasted through 20 years of nearly daily use.
