Creo Parametric 2.0 Tutorial

Great investment for the CAD professional!
After 16 years in Solidworks, I took a position in CREO and was immediately thrown into the program without any training. These books were invaluable to me over the last 4 months. We have now upgraded to CREO 3.0. This tutorial and the accompanying manual I bought were a very good investment. I find it always helps to have the written word when you are learning a new CAD program for reference. Highly recommend.

Great for an absolute beginner to Creo, still good for someone transitioning from other programs.
I've started getting into the lessons in this book, and it is definitely geared towards the absolute beginner. I've been using Creo for a few months, so much of the content of the books is review for me. However, the author does include lots of little tips and hints in the text that I think will make me more efficient. For example, I had never noticed that the datum planes changed colors depending on whether I was looking at the front or the back of the plane (brown is front, black is back). I think as I go through more lessons that there will be even more useful info.I docked a star because the DVD is as yet completely useless. The lessons on the DVD are just a visual recap of each chapter. They don't offer anything that the book doesn't show or describe.

This is a great book. I am making the transition from SolidWorks to Creo for a new job and this book has been very helpful. If you are planning on using the included multimedia DVD make sure you have Quicktime installed, it will not work without it!

Creo Getting Started with this Book
This is good book if you are starting out for the first time on Creo Parametric. Well detailed book, easy to follow and good graphic pictures to help you understand on how to use this software to the best.

It's in there...
Everything I needed for my mechanical engineering design class was in this text. And I was able to get it delivered to my house when the bookstores weren't even carrying it!!!

Good, paperback
I am new to Creo, but this tutorial seems to be a very good self-learning material. Also, the paperback packaging is good enough for a tutorial book.

Creo parametric 2.0 Tutorial and multimedia DVD
Rappresenta un strumento buono per chi si accinge a usare CREO 2 per la prima volta, in assenza di documentazione valida distribuita dalla casa.A quando la traduzione in italiano del DVD?

First Class Training Manual for Creo Parametric 2.0
PROS:I am really enjoyng this manual, primarily because Roger Toogood's approach exhibits his own very strong understanding of the program and the preferred work-flows needed to gain the best from it. Not only that, if one follows his approach and philosophy, one will be well placed for building strong robust models that can be readily understood and processed by downstream colleagues and users. The writing style is warm and friendly, clear and succinct. Throughout, Roger explains the "why" as well as the "what". This is great for me, transferring as I am from other 3D CAD software. He also introduces intentional "mistakes" so that the newby user can see just how Creo responds, and what happens when adaptions are needed in the model. He effortlessly encourages user exploration, and advises against simplistically following each exercise with a blind "click this, then that" approach. The book can be readily used in the classroom environment as well as on one's own.I'd rate this a "Five" if it were in colour.CONS:Would love to see this book printed in colour. Creo uses a lot of very subtle colour cues in the User Interface, and it would be good to be able to see these in the screen pics without resort to other explanatory codes or labels.RECOMMENDATION:I strongly recommend this book to anyone coming into the Creo environment. It comfortably introduces the new user to the huge depth of this program in a non-intimidating way, thus encouraging further positive exploration of the program's capabilities.
