Easy to install
This lock is easy to install. Drill a 5/16” hole as per instructions, insert bolt and secure lock to bolt

This lock is a replacement for one of the bolts that hold the outboard motor to the transom. It's all stainless steel construction, so salt water won't rust it. Installation was as simple as removing one bolt and installing this locking bolt (I think I had to use a hacksaw to customize the length). The nut is recessed inside a metal "cup" that rotates freely if somebody tries to put pliers to it. The nut itself is a special shape that you can't turn with a hex wrench- you need the specially shaped socket "key". I'm not sure what size motors this is designed for, but it fits my 30 h.p. Johnson. This gives me peace of mind that some creep won't easily run off with my motor. It was super easy to install, and it fit perfectly. For what it is, the price is quite reasonable. Just be sure to put the key in a place where you can find it when you need to pull the motor off!
