Good for a kid's guitar
This is a nice kids beginner guitar. It is pretty simple and doesn't look as flashy in person as it sort of looks in the photos, but that's okay... it's still a nice black color. There are random cosmetic defects like the black paint got on some fret bars, but it's for a kid so no biggie. It doesn't have a knob at the front of the guitar for the strap but does on the rear... so you have to tie the string around the neck instead which is okay but not ideal. The tuner does not come with batteries so I used a tuner I already had instead. The strings easily go flat... even as soon as I'm done adjusting other strings. It has some cool looking picks and comes with an unpadded case with a pocket. I briefly let me 3 and 4 year olds hold it on their laps and try it. The 3 year old wanted to pluck at the strings but was really interested and wanted to do it himself. The 4 year old let me strum with holding his hand. It's a good size for them and even an okay size for an adult to use, but is not made for an adult. It would recommend it for the kid in your life. It's overall a good set and let's them get a taste of playing the guitar. It might be a little bit before my two are ready for actual lessons though.

I bought this for my grandson
My son, his dad, had played electric guitar for years as a way to carve out a bit of "me time" for himself. He will go in the spare room where he keeps his guitar, turn the amp low and play songs he loves for an hour or more. When he comes out, he seems happier, calmer and more centered. Music is a great way to "go there" when needed. So, because my son's electric guitar is a fairly expensive one he bought years ago (I believe it is one of the higher-end Stratocasters) so it isn't one he would use to teach his son on...so, I got this one for him to learn to play the guitar like his daddy. My grandson is 10 so that's a good time for him to learn on this smaller-sized acoustic guitar. I am happy with all the accessories that came with it, the bag that he can sling over a shoulder and take with him when they go camping. I know my son will enjoy the process of teaching his son how to play and maybe that bonding time will produce memories that last a lifetime - music and good memories...what more could you ask for?

This guitar is very good sound, easy to play, and fun to play. It only needs better tuning machines. To be perfect. Other than that I like the guitar.
