Batteries don’t last
It does work but it drains the batteries within a few hours. Not really worth it if you have to constantly be changing the batteries, which are expensive.

It needs batterjes
This was great, a real lifesaver. I'd purchased fancy 'fairy' lights for the little Christmas tree for my grandson. I was so excited when they and their remote controller arrived but I couldn't plug it in to anything but a USB port. Where's an almost three year old going to plug that in?? I went back to Amazon to find a power device which hooked up to a USB. Voila! Perfect, insert several batteries, plug the lights and there's a tree any three year old would love. I showed him how to turn it off and on on the battery pack and all the grown-ups were comfortable with him being in charge. Thanks...

failure on second battery test, released smoke
released smoke after second battery test, unlikely to have survived the fall after i threw it outside of the house for safetyit was going to get 3 stars before that from my other test, it goes from 8w, to 6w, to4w pretty quickly (under 30min) then sticks around 4 w a bit before dieing out when batteries go just under 1.2 v, when i tested it the first time, the batteries got rather warm, so i did not think that aa batteries are up for the task of powering a phone, although with todays smoke failure it possibly could be a short or defective product, if everyone elses version is working well, and can give 6w at a normal time, then it may be better and i just got a bad one, but mine could not live up to its info

Pretty good for RGB string lights
I bought this to hook up to my strip of RGB lights that I put under my computer desk. There were only 2 outlets that I could have hooked them up to, but they were being used by my computer and lamp, and I didn't want to have to connect and disconnect every time I wanted to turn the lights on. With this, I can easily turn it off and on, and I plan on gluing the battery under my desk so that there's no visible cables, and it all looks like magic. The build of the case was ok, a bit cheap looking, but it does its job very well. I tried connecting it with my iPhone to see if it would charge, but my phone did not recognize any charge coming in. After a while of it being on, I noticed it feel a bit warm, but not much that it's concerning. I would probably buy it again for any future usb lights.

Love this product.
If you are tired of rechargable batteries that dont deliver what they promise. You love this product. I use this and regular alkaline to run mini security cameras. There are few rechargable battery on the market without autoshutoff. Well alkaline doesnt need autoshut off and lasts a lot more than rechargable. Until rechargables are fixed I am using this product and Alkaline to run crutial equipment that still need continous power and 1.5v

Better than many - barely
Not as delicate as other products but still not as solid as needed for go kit use. I had to buy a different product in case this one fails.

Does what it says on the tin
I've never found that portable devices that can be charged to charge something else are adequate. 4 good ol' aa batteries do the trick with this. As long as you have batteries, you can charge anything with a usb plug. I'm quite happy to have found this.
